I'm so proud of myself

Recommended Posts

I haven't dated in YEARS. I met someone I'm really interested in and our mutual activity ends tomorrow. Basically, he was standing outside alone before lunch and I went up to him and said something to the effect of “I’m going to make an ass of myself, but if you'd like to do something after all of this is over, give me a call.” He graciously said thanks and that he’d see me tomorrow. He was pretty cool about it all (although we'll see how awkward tomorrow is). Pretty sure he won’t call, but that’s ok. Just proud that I did it. I haven't been that forward with a guy since high school. In some ways, its better if he doesn't call - I'd be like the dog that actually catches her tail - what the heck would I do next. I've been out of the game for at least a decade at this point!

But, in the end, I actually feel good that I did it, even if nothing comes of it.

Short lived victory. A friend was talking to him today and he said something about "we're buying a house". She asked a few probing questions and dragged out of him (her words, not mine) that he's married with a kid. No ring. In the several weeks we've been together every day for the activity, he's never mentioned a wife or kid. Oh well, so I made an ass of myself. At least he was cool about it. Although I wish HE'd just told me about the wife.

You deserve so much more than him; after all, if he cheats on his wife and child, he would think nothing of cheating on you also.
You are a beautiful person, you have come through so much already in your weight journey, you deserve someone to walk by your side, be proud of everything you have done and are doing, and treats you like the valuable treasure you are! Don't get warts from kissing too many toads and frogs, you deserve much higher in the food chain than them! Believe in YOU and be true to YOU!

      OMG! I dreamt of cake!!
As of late, my dreams have been food obsessed. Last night I dreamed of gorging on good old American sheet cake with chocolate frosting. There was white frosting as well. Good thing we can't get that in Sweden! I just hope that I haven't become too engrossed in food. BUT they are only dreams after all.

Feel like it's time for a status update, I haven't been on here regularly in a while and I need to keep my mindset focused on my goals.
I haven't weighed myself in ~ 3 weeks.  I think I'm becoming the opposite of "obsessive" about tracking my progress and it could cause me some issues.  The good thing is that there have still been quite a number of NSV's happening that is telling me that I'm still progressing without knowing what the scale says.
First one is that a belt I bought about 5 weeks ago because all my other belts were too big is also on the last hole so I'll have to buy yet another belt again.  second, I bought new jeans about a month ago and I have a lot more slack in the waist than I did when I purchased them.  I also boarded a plane and had about 8 inches of slack in the belt.  Finally, I hit my goal last week of being able to ride go-carts with my kids.  The last time I tried about 4 years ago, I had to leave because I couldn't fit in the harness.  This was sweet victory and I showed those two how it was done on the race course!!  😈
