Minimal loss on pre-op diet!

Recommended Posts

People I'm having a little panic attack. I started the mostly liquid diet a week ago and I've only lost a couple of pounds.

The month prior I was doing 1000 calories, 65-75 grams of Protein, 100 grams of carbs and 30 grams of fat. That month I lost 20 pounds.

I know I'm getting enough protein, maybe 30 grams of carbs and less than 5 grams of fat, and really reaching only 600/ 700 calories a day.

Maybe I've hit some plateau, but surgery is on Monday, 3/11, and I'm afraid the surgeon is going to say you haven't lost enough weight.

Has anyone else experienced this?

If you weren't given a specific amount to loose like 5% or 10% in my case, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I hope you are right. I'm waiting to hear from the Dr. office to see if there will be a problem.

I only lost about three pounds on the pre-op liquid diet, and they did my surgery without question. Then again, this might be one of those surgeon-by-surgeon things. Keep us posted!

Update, got a call back from the Dr. office. They'd be happy if I lost 5, but as long as I've lost since I started the process (I have - 30 pounds), I am just fine!

Phew! Bullet dodged.

And forward March resolutely towards surgery, because your day of Glory is coming and I am very excited for you. Less than a week, these last few do move fast, but you're ready , steady, forward now!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
