Is sodium a problem for anyone else?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone. I'm new here. My surgery is scheduled for Monday and I'm so excited. I feel like I'm going to see my fairy godmother. Fix my body a nd I'll fix my mind. Wish they could fix my mind to but...know only I can do that. I was wondering if anyone else has a issue with sodium or had? Is it still a problem after being sleeved? Or it's not a issue anymore do to the small amount of food being eating? Or is this a question I need to address on another board after surgery? I have heart disease and have had OHS already so I avoid anything salty. Thank you for being here.

One good thing is you will already be getting blood work done probably twice a year so you can look at your sodium levels along with the other levels to see if an adjustment is needed. I always drank tons of Water pre-surgery so I was concerned I might have to watch my sodium intake post surgery because of the limited amount of water I could drink. I'm a little over 2 months post-op and back up to 100+ oz a day of water so sodium concentration shouldn't be an issue. Just shoot for high liquid goals and you will be good. I was going to say golden but when it comes to pee, you want to shoot for clear. LOL

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
