I chose the gastric bypass because I said if I'm going to do the surgery I might as well do it right. Plus I'm glad I decided on the gastric bypass because I know ppl that have had the sleeve done they've gained all that weight back plus more. I'm not willing to do that. When the weight goes its gonna stay gone.

Yeah same reason I chose it. It's the most restrictive so it works long term

You're at the weight I started out at. My first goal weight was 165 lbs. and my new goal weight is 145 lbs. I am currently at 158 lbs. I'd be happy to be your buddy asking your journey, even though we are both living in different states.

Thank you I would really like that very much. I've read a few things you've wrote and they have touched me I would love for you to be my buddy and share with me just how you have done this because it's not an easy thing to do.

Hi! My name is Lindsay. I’m just starting the process, but I’m doing the sleeve. I’m feeling really excited! I’ve told the 4 people I wanted to tell and everyone was more than supportive.

Hi There,

My name is Susie, and I am new to this as well. I am in the Bronx hoping to do my surgery in April. I have psychiatrist evaluation and stress test on Thurs Feb 14th, last physical therapy on Feb 28th and cardiologist clearance March 13th. After careful research, I am leaning towards the gastric bypass and will discuss this with my doctor on March 19th. My current weight is 257lbs with highest weight has 260lbs and goal is 150lbs. I have high blood pressure because of the excess weight and it scares me a lot. I will be doing my surgery at Mt. Sinai in Manhattan. The appointments overwhelmed me but I am looking forward to the next chapter of my life.

You're very welcome. I'm glad that my words have had an impact on some way. It's definitely not easy at all. It's a lot of determination. I've had to go through my journey alone with no real support from family or friends. So I know the importance of having someone in your corner rooting for your success. It would have been easier for me to cope with if I had

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
