Minimal bowel movements after surgery

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I had the sleeve done on 1/8 and am feeling fine at 22 pounds down. I eat all my meals and drink my fluids regularly. All that said, I am having almost no bowel movements. I do pass gas regularly but I do not have the feeling that I need to go. I don't feel constipated and I have no gas pain. Is any of this normal or am I doing something wrong? It just feels weird to me.

If you're going but just in small amounts, that's normal. It will increase in volume as you progress to puree and food with more substance.

I have had regular bowel movements daily since surgery, so I'm guessing that just each person is different and it'll change as you start to add food and more volume.

My bowels are all over the place! Sometimes constipated and then loosy goosy . I have the feeling of having to go and then there is barely anything there and a lot of gas. I have advanced to puree and I wish my bowels would just regulate themselves. Sometimes when I feel stopped up I take the Milk of Magnesium and then its so loose and messy. I have IBS and my body doesn't seem to know what to do with all of this? I would take Fiber supplements but I feel like that stops me up. I do drink more then 64 ozs of Water a day. Anyone know how to regulate this stuff?

Check out my "let's talk poop" thread I just updated on here. 3 months out and still won't go for weeks unless I take an herbal stimulant.

Also on the "no go" train unless I take a stimulant and then when I take a stimulant, I have a stomachache. All around a shitty situation.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
