I was sleeved on Dec 19, (3 weeks today) I am on puréed foods now and can’t stop burping...all day! I had minor reflux before the surgery... at least that what the doctor told me after my endoscopy. Now I feel like I have it worse 10 time over! Is that something that can happen? You DEVELOP reflux after surgery?

Reflux is a decently common complication of the sleeve. Does your doc have you on a PPI? Many will have people on PPIs for several months after surgery. I'd call your doc and ask if he can prescribe something. Although burping may not be reflux, it just may be your new tum getting used to digesting food.

I just posted on this in the December Sleevers thread. I have the same issue. I am burping all the time and it has like a weird acid/metallic taste. I also have had a chronic sore throat for the past couple of weeks. I just called my doctor's office to see what I should do. I have been taking pepcid twice a day. They are switching to protonix once a day (twice if necessary) and I am seeing the doctor next Wednesday. I hope I don't need another endoscopy (I had three of them before my surgery).

I burp all-the-damn-time now. My BF is amused by my sudden lack of manners and congratulates me when I have a particularly good one.

Men are still "little boys" at ❤, and they do seem to enjoy large belchs. Are you eating anything like the cabbage family that could be provoking gastric wind? I hate to do it myself , because that's how my vomiting episodes start, belch, belch, urp.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
