Depressed, Scared, and Everything In Between

Recommended Posts

Yea, she lost a good amount of weight, thus far. She regrets doing the surgery. Also, her eating habit has changed. I guess when an individual has been used to an eating lifestyle and then that lifestyle has changed it may be hard to overcome at first. For example, she's worried about eating out with friends and just eating a small amount of food. The friends may look at it as weird, but who cares! I may be wrong, but I believe this could be it or more. I'm just here as a concern brother, I want her to be emotionally and physically healthy. I'm even looking into hiring a trainer to help her in the gym.
Is she seeing a therapist? I will be the first one to tell you that changing my eating habits has been the hardest thing for me. Sometimes, the food doesn't even seem enjoyable. And yes, it's hard to eat out but she can totally do it! I've been telling people that my success with weight loss has been that I am eating a lot less, a lot more. And that is not a lie. She just needs to let her friends know (when they start asking) that she is making a change to better herself. And ask for a box to box up half her food!

This is a HUGE change for those of us who has lived to eat all of our lives. Its a constant struggle. But at this point in time, I don't regret it. I pray your sis sees the process for what it really is!

And talk more, move the food around on the plate, try to tell the others I am enjoying your company, the statement she is doing this to get better is very good, almost everyone I know is on some sort of diet anyway so we don't stick out as bad as one might think. Yes box it up if necessary, I got a card from my facility that states as a post- bariatric patient I am permitted to choose from childs or senior menu. Well I am a " senior" or at least the calender says so, I think of me more as "late Middle Age," my RnY gave me a longer lifespan. And I intend to" rock it" as long as I have breath in this body.

ATA get ur Protein in. They even have protein Water my hair is down to my waist never fell out my surgery was December. Talk to ur dr they me on an antidepressant honestly w urself and ur dr. Are very important doing this alone is hard. I have sole custody of my son when I had the surgery my parents took him for a week so I could rest. They only came to get me for dr appointments it was scary and isolating which makes this process harder. Reaching out is good it does get better. Listen to your body and drs. And if they offer group sessions it’s a good idea to go. Wish u the best

And this is a happier post, ATA I am glad to see it even more happy you're getting your load- levels for your life all adjusted. Been doing that in my own life, PCP remarked I seem happier, and that my Weight loss journey may be starting to smooth out. Certainly had challenges along the way, still not certain how it all will end but I am so much better than I was this time last year. And gosh, I wonder what Spring 2020 will be bringing, by then I may have reached goal. Surgeon & his top N.P. Valerie expect I will not reach GOAL at 1 year, may complete it closer to 18 months which will be March 2020. Fine I would like to reach my Dream Goal of 175 then, but truthfully anything less than 199 and I will be satisfied enough to not worry about the last 25 pounds. And I am happy to report I am at 242, having started with HW of 365+, it is wondrously fine in my estimination. Was able to find a sport-type bra and a pair of Just My Size leggings on clearance, would you believe I have never found leggings that fit before? So maybe I will be able to make the jump out of Plus Size Princess and. into Normal sized and Nice Selections of clothing. Almost makes me get tearful💦I am still a bundle of hopeful in this unsure🌏 world!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
