Haha I know I am doing things right. My surgeon is very happy with where I'm at. But WHATEVERRRRR. WHAAA. It's also hard not comparing yourself to other people's progress. Support groups are definitely a mixed bag. "Everyone has their own journey blah blah blah"

I just got cleared for some exercise this week. No ab stuff for another week, and no heavy weights until ??? Hoping adding in the exercise will pick things back up and tone me up.

This may make you feel normal...My first 2.5 weeks I lost about 20 lbs...after that I didn't lose any more weight, not one ounce for another 4.5 weeks. I just kept telling myself, it's gotta start dropping because I am following my plan BUT I was losing inches like crazy and my clothes were getting to big. I was getting very frustrated as well, then I just stopped worrying about it so much.

Hang in there i know the feeling. My stall lasted 2.5 weeks...I thought i was losing my mind as i had the same thoughts as you. The scale is FINALLY moving. I am putting it away and will only weigh myself every two weeks. The scale is an evil thing!!!

Okay... totally legitimate question no one can seem to answer. I get the whole, losing inches but not pounds thing... but I thought that only happened if you put on muscle mass? But if I am not strength training or doing much exercise... how am I putting on muscle mass? It is so confusing!

Can we have a bariatricpal forum conference where we all bring our scales and light them on fire like Burning Man? How do I tag Alex?

I'm convinced most people should not weight often early on.

This is 100% true - but impossible to follow. LOL. I weigh every.single.day. Sometimes I look at the scale and I'm like... naw... I'm not falling for your tricks today. But then I'm like... I MUST KNOW. And cave.

On the plus side, I am down a pound this morning. HA. *adjusts ticker by one pound*

My surgeon on Tuesday casually mentioned that most RNY patients lose the most around 4 months. I didn't ask why because I had 1000 questions and it didn't really click at the time. Has anyone else heard this or had this experience? Yes... we are all different and such. But I am wondering why he said that... if he's noticed a trend or maybe it's due to your body finally not believing it's starving anymore?

Stalls suck green balls. At any time. But most especially the dreaded "3 week stall" that happens any time within weeks 2-6. LOL. I wanted to sacrifice small animals. Cuz I was eating like 4-500 cals and thinking, this is BS!!!! LOL. But I swear it will break. Stay the course. Drink your Water, maybe even add in Decaf green tea. Walk. Walk. Walk!!!

I hauled butt to my pcp to cry wtf. I lost more weight in month 1 on all the different diet fads I did. I lost 11 pounds in 11 days after surgery then nothing, not a speck for 20 days. THIS IS NOT EVEN SCIENCE LOL! I was on antibiotics back to back for uti and also dealing with kidney stones but I felt so bewildered and ripped off. Then the last 5 days I lost a pound a day for no particular reason except maybe that I added a bit more carbs and fat because that would shake things up when I stalled low carbing before. But I felt the same feelings of panic and disbelief and feeling ripped off.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
