Recipe for Oatmeal Lovers

Recommended Posts

For any of you who love oatmeal like I do, and also want to get in your Protein I think that I may have a recipe for you. Today I am 8 Days post op and I am on a full liquid diet. My nutritionist says that watery oatmeal was okay. So what I have done is the following:

I take a premier vanilla shake with a half of a banana along with a half a cup of quick minute oatmeal. I add nutmeg and vanilla extract, cinnamon. I put it all in a blender and I blend for a good 6 minutes.

If I want to have it then I will but I prefer mine to be a little bit warm so I usually put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. It is delicious! It's also a great way in getting in your protein and also getting some energy. I have been doing this for the past 2 days and I have to say that it made me regular and I have some energy now.

Oatmeal is one of the things I've been missing most on my pre-op diet. I love this idea! Thanks for sharing.

Overnight refrigerator oats are a favorite of mine. You can change them up so much. My favourite is to add a bit of cocoa powder, some chia seeds, and raspberries.

Looking forward to when I can have them again.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
