Pain at lower left abdomen

Recommended Posts

I've had a fairly easy recovery, however, three weeks post-op, I'm having pain at the lower left abdomen. Anyone else experience this?

I’m also having the same pain and I’m in my 3rd week. People say gas but I’m having a hard time believing there is still gasses from surgery 3 weeks out. Maybe the muscle is healing there?

does it hurt when you eat or drink? ask that if it is not when was the last time you had a BM? and lastly you do have internal stiches as well that are healing, when I was three weeks out I experienced something similar for a few days but it was healing. if it is too painful or you have a lot of concerns I always say best to call the doctor.

It's better now....I'm guessing it's scar tissue healing. No issues with eating and BMs...all good there.

The large incision was heavy and painful, but started to subside. After a rather long day of shopping, the pain extended from the incision to my left side and was excruciating. I am now 13 days out. I talked to the on call surgeon, who ascertained that there was no infection, and thought I may have overdone it, and managed to injur the inside stitching a bit. He wasn't concerned and told me to take it easy and use pain relievers. Tylenol works. But when it wears off, lordy!

The big incision stitch is what caused me pain too. Then one day I felt it go “POP” (which is a weird-ass feeling) and all was well.

Lol! Pop? What do you think it was? The surgeon I spoke with told me to put a hot pad on it to help the pain.

How long did it go on for before it popped?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
