I have not had surgery yet but all the info I have gathered in preparation tells me the new smaller stomach needs
To heal and that takes a while. something as chunky as food could cause damage and or just problems. 😕. My doc requires liquids then a certain amount of time purée food then solid in tiny amounts of course.

Our new tummy's need time to heal and my Dr said he wanted liquid to give it time to heal and not take a chance of getting a leak. I've seen some people on here came home eating soft foods. We are all given different advice and directions for post op. When I follow my Dr's directions, I feel better physically and then mentally. When I'm not getting my Protein or fluids, I'm sluggish and of course not losing the weight like I"m supposed to.

All the above, it's to allow for healing. It sucks, but it's worth it in the long run, you REALLY don't want to push things too fast and end up with a problem that'll need more surgery to correct.

I was sleeved four years ago. About three weeks or so after surgery I had two McDonald's french fries. They HURT going down. It was difficult, but I went right back to my liquid diet. The experience really helped me understand the importance of healing. Good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
