So I finally told my parents

The other night I finally told my parents of my WLS decision. I knew my mom knew (thanks sister!) but had said nothing about it to me. When I brought it up I was pretty shocked how instantly supportive my dad was about it, this coming from a retired physician who was a runner most of his life. Mom said she didn’t tell him so I knew his response was true and genuine. This brings the total to six people who currently know about my journey.

I manage a group of salespeople and tell them all the time bad news doesn’t get better with age and in this case the same held true. I was apprehensive because mom has been trying to get me to sign up for WW for over a year but I’m just not into their program. MRC was great when I did it the first time but like most the weight came back with a vengeance.

Now I’m under a month from surgery - apprehensive, nervous, excited, etc but ready to get on with the show.

This forum has been a big help - I’ve read so many threads, past and present, so thought I’d share a little bit.

Supportive parents are the best. My mom flew in to help with my post op recovery and she is an angel. She is even sleeping on my couch! Never once in my life can I remember her sleeping on a couch.
