Hello everyone!

I was approved a few days ago (after only waiting a week) and received my surgery date for December 12, 2018! I chose this date out of the few offered to me because I am currently in college and I will be able to finish up my classes prior to the surgery (which was a huge worry of mine.) It's about two weeks before my birthday too!

Anyone else scheduled out in December?

Happy to see someone else in my state's Capital city. Had my RnY September 5th at OSU, lost cl i re to 50lb since the end of July .spent August on a liver shrinking diet, lost 15 lb then, the rest after surgery, have a minor blip now but hope it can be smoothed out. Never could lose this well except having a baby, and that had its own set of problems. And I live in Mount Vernon, 48 miles NE of Columbus.???Best wishes for,your future,

It is! I'm December 22. Christmas babies, am I right? Definitely an interesting holiday to have your birthday around.

I had my surgery exactly a year before you 12/12/17. Hopefully it's a lucky date. Almost a year out looking back it was an amazing life changing decision. I was just over 300 lbs to start and by June (6 months) had lost just under 100 lbs and was running miles at a time, biking etc. since then I've been trying to maintain around 200 and struggling a bit to not keep losing (a high class problem). Good luck, great things are to come and in a year you will feel totally different!

The more that I dwell on the surgery, to more worried and anxious that I've become. I know it will be a fantastic thing for me to do and will open up a lot of opportunities for me to live my life. . . but it's natural to be kind of scared, you know? Thank you for the good vibes, I think it WILL be a lucky date.

Hi everyone!!! I just got my sleeve date of Dec 7th!!!! I am so very excited! I get the lap band out this Friday (10/26) also :) The port came out many years ago so it’s just the band piece. Hopefully it is easy breezy. I’ve waited so long for this surgery, both of them, and the reality of it happening soon is starting to click. This year has been dreadful health wise. Plagued with diverticulitis flare-ups, severe sciatic nerve pain, and general malaise with not feeling well. I feel like I’m ending this year on a good note and feel empowered to have a kick-ass 2019! I’ll be Turning 45 this year and I’m going to make it as amazing as possible. xx

Hey All,

I was given a date of Dec. 6th. They found that I had sleep apnea, so I had to take an extra 30 days and sleep with the cpap. My follow-up pulmonary clearance appointment is today. Last night made 30 days of cpap use so I am able to get my clearance today. I had to schedule an extra weigh in to cover this 30 days so that I wouldn't have any gaps in my medical weight management, though my insurance only required three months this will be my fourth. My final weigh in is tomorrow. My class is Thursday. Tomorrow they will they will send in everything to get approval. I meet with the surgeon on the 12th. I am super ready!

I am new here and also scheduled for 12/12. I'm soooo excited I wish I could get it done now!

So excited for all of you December sleepers. My Birthday is on December the 1st. Scheduled for surgery on November 30th. Would love to follow your journey.

Surgery twinsies! I am literally getting SOOO excited!!! Although I was just wondering why I have to give up coffee.....that's upsetting!

I've been going back and forth between being super excited and then downright scared. So, coffee is definitely going to be off the table for a couple of weeks post-surgery, but my surgeon said that after a certain point (when I'm comfortably getting in liquids) I can start drinking coffee again. I don't drink mine with a whole lot of sugar (actually, I just put a splash of heavy whipping cream in it.)

That's what my surgeon said. They agree that coffee is a good way to get protein shakes down (you can add them to your coffee.)
