Hey Everyone, Looks like were all doing great so far anyways. I just got told by the surgical team ive reached 58% loss of excess weight which has me totally psyched as im only 8 weeks down :) Nearly out of the obese category for BMI and ive dropped 6 pant sizes. This really has been best decision ive ever made so happy :)

Have a ways to go still but losing consistently every week so that keeps me motivated. Still struggling to find the right portion size no matter how small i go i feel like im always one mouthful over haha, One of these days ill make a plate of food that is just right :D

Hey Irish! Congrats on your tremendous weight loss accomplishment!!! That is so awesome. Keep doing your thing. I can so relate to that one mouthful over, whether it's with drinking or eating. As of late though it's been registering as I am chewing.. "umm, you cannot swallow this bite." I get sick to the stomach, so I know to spit it out. It's crazy, but it has been working for me. I am sure it'll balance out a little more for all of us and I look forward to not having to spit it out and just finding a proper portion minus that last bite!! Great job!! I am so excited for everyone.

A week is not a change in "trend". It's a week where you just haven't lost a as much as other weeks. Losses come in bits and spurts. I will lose nothing for a week and then 5 pounds in 2 days, not much for another few days, then 2 pounds overnight. That's just how it goes. No biggie.

Btw, after sending that email about how disciplined I have been, I snacked quite a bit last night!!! It happens. I followed my plan and the foods I ate were consistent with my dietary goals. My hunger was probably in my head because I overate, felt like crap and threw up 20 minutes later. Even with exceeding my calorie limits, I lost a pound. Nevertheless, I can be religious in observance of my diet and not lose an ounce or even gain a pound over a five day period. You just have to stick to your program and trust that it will all work itself out in the end. If you actually find yourself in a real stall, no weight loss or inches lost for a month or more, then you need to talk to your doctor.

Onederland is coming for both of us and it will feel REALLY GOOD when we get there. Maybe we'll get there tomorrow? Maybe not for another week? It's going to happen in time. :)

Ate it too fast and it was cold and whoops a daisy , it all came back up 🙄😬🤢. Kicked Butt in spin this am though and am now 1.5 lbs from onederland - but this is after up 1.5 yesterday so who even knows ! I am trying to distance myself from this damn goal. And yes I agree that one week is not a trend . I was flat for a week and then dropped this am ..oh happy day !

Hi guys!! I will be 7 weeks post surgery tomorrow and I am down 41 lbs, still going strong, drinking more fluids, having more solid foods and tolerating them better, but I do tend to get sort of nausead after eating toooo fast but I am gagging on my saliva more, [emoji19] plus been a little sick from this weather here in Alabama[emoji20]. I have not been able to get any exercise in for the past week n a half due to school and work scheduled, but I get my steps in through out the day[emoji847] I have not had as much energy to do more praying for that though. We are still on the road to recovery guys, KEEP PUSHING[emoji6]

Hi TaeRenee - Down 41 pounds!!! Excellent! Sweet home Alabama... Yeah. ;] Hope school and work is going well?

I'm down 40 pounds, too. Nothing fits in my closet - so need to go shopping today for some inexpensive hold me overs like khaki shorts and slacks... However, Size 18 has a nice ring to it vs. 2X-3X. Looking very forward to shopping regular clothes departments with more variety and style! We are getting there...

Here's to our next 40!

Ehhh. I threw up a couple of times this week. It doesn't happen often. but it does happen. Onederland still eludes me as well. I have stuck between 200.4 and 200.8 for the past three days! :) It's going to happen sooner or later---just hope it happens before my B-day on Monday!

Read this every day. You all keep me encouraged. Sometimes I must admit I get overwhelmingly jealous, but that’s ok!!! I’m 6 weeks post surgery and at 2 weeks I had lost 20 lbs, then I added purée/soft foods and immediately gained 4.5 lbs. I have truly had major issues with bladder and kidney problems. Just don’t feel good. Therefore my “exercise” program has mainly been running to the bathroom. Ha!
But....FINALLY, this past week the weight gained is gone plus a couple more lbs.
yeah I wish I could say, “6 weeks and I’ve lost 35 lbs,” but I’m seriously glad for my 23+!!

Everyone’s journey is different but rest assured of and when u can do all the steps it will come off . I had the dreaded 3 week stall and then week 6 stall and finally at the end of week 7 the scale is moving again . I think our bodies sometimes need time to catch up . I also have started drinking lemon Water as a diuretic and maybe I’m imagining it but the weight is coming off quicker . My nut told me that sometimes the fat leaves but the cells fills with water so the diuretic flushed it out .

I only weigh in once a week, keeps me from obsessing! you can gain/lose up to 5-6 lbs of Water daily so I don't sweat it. I am 8 weeks out and down 40 lbs. one third of the way to my goal. I am right there with you on that 'one bite too many' I can tell right away when it is too much. I have only really overaten once and it was stress/emotions related. gotta learn to conquer that!

I doubt the 4.5 pound weight gain had anything to do with adding puree/soft foods into your diet. Women's weight naturally fluctuates more then men's over the course of the month. If you're retaining Water, you can be burning fat tissue, but it isn't going to show up on the scale. Daily weight fluctuations can be really frustrating, but you can't look at it as how much you gain or lose in any given day. You have to track trends over time--how you did in a week, month, two months etc. I know my rate of weight loss is leveling out and the days of of seeing 2 pounds loses overnight may be a thing of the past. That's ok!! If I losing an average of one to two pounds a week (average---not that you actually lose two pounds every week), I'll reach my goal weight sometime in 4 to 8 months from now . That is awesome and is more than I could have hoped for and expect from having this surgery. Even if it takes another year, I'll still be thrilled since I never imagined I could ever lose this much weight and feel this good again--plus I am off my T2DM meds which is just awesome.

So woke up this morning and the weight seemed to melt away this week and for the first time in well over a decade i'm no longer OBESE wohooo BMI today 29.9 so to say im ecstatic doesn't even describe it well enough.

At this rate should reach by goal weight by summer assuming weight loss continues. Planning to start gymming end of march so far haven't done much apart form watch my diet and keep my step count up high.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
