VSG on 8/28. But having bad joint pain.

Recommended Posts

First time posting in here. I had my Revision from band to sleeve on 8/28. So far I have had constant pain in my joints since then. I had swelling in my hand do to a bad iv during surgery. Which also caused chest pains that I had to get hospitalized because they weren’t sure if I had PE’s. Or pneumonia. Which I had neither. They have since subsided some. Now I am having swelling in my knees. Very painful. And it feels like all this pain is making it worse to do the things I need to do help get better from the surgery. And of course, I can’t take any anti inflammatories. I’ve used ice, heat, and elevation. Any other ideas that anyone has would greatly help. I wanna get moving.

Keep drinking your Water and take walks. Even if they are back and forth to the restroom. I was swollen after surgery and my joints hurt. I used liquid Tylenol if it was really bad and iced my knees. The walking and drinking fluids helped the most. Just start moving and keep increasing each day. Your joints will feel much better as you lose weight, mine do.

Sorry to hear that. I actually had my surgery the same day as you!

I had some pains in my foot about 10 days out of surgery, but I've been diagnosed with gout, so I was able to take meds to relieve the pain within a day. Apparently flareups are normal.

It may be worth getting a referral to a rheumatologist if things get worse.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
