@UncleBreezy. I haven't been drinking much at all. Been too scared to see how my stomach will react. I'll start tomorrow trying to get the fluids down. Ugh. Lol. Hope you are doing well.
I’m so scared of dehydrating and going back into the hospital that I force myself to drink. A couple of times it has been painfully, so I’m assuming that’s my stomach telling me when it’s full and can’t take any more liquid. I back off for about 20 minutes and the pain goes away. Then I start drinking again. It’s all a learning process. Your body will tell you what it can and can’t handle.

I was told not to use my treadmill until I got the OK and I was like why? why? why? Apparently people can overdo it without realizing it.

Yes, you are right and I was feeling so good it wasn’t even a concern but we are still so fragile a week and a half out. And with my surgeon recommending walks and elliptical. I think the issue is that I was going faster than I would have if walking outside at this point. But 2.7mph is normally very slow for me. I have been on the go the last few days as well so it may be a combo of things.

I had my surgery 10/3/18 it’s been about a week and few days I don’t know if it’s working for me or not. Can I have a stall in the beginning? Trying not to regret it. HWR (335) pre surgery (324) today anywhere from 316 give or take my scale changes everything I move it so I can’t trust it no more. Any advice is gratefully appreciated.

You have lost almost 20 lbs and that’s great!!! What are you eating right now? Have you added to liquids? Are you staying in a calorie range? I had surgery on the 2nd and after week 1 could add drinkable yogurts and runny Soups blended.. 60-80 g of Protein and a 600-800 calorie range. I noticed I didn’t loose the first two days (was even up) of adding the Soup and yogurt. Maybe you are just adjusting?

Hi everyone! I was sleeved on the 2nd and have a weird pain that started today and wondering if anyone has experienced this or any insight? I have felt great the last 4-5 days; lots of energy, liquids going down great, and incisions healing great. I’ve been doing 20 minute walks the last few days (surgeon suggestion) and today used the treadmill. After my walk today I laid down on the couch and felt this intense spasm type pain the left of my belly button. I got up walked around and it went away quickly and then when I laid down again it came back. It seems to be muscular because when I hold that part of my stomach (it’s like right in my roll over my belly button) it doesn’t happen. I am not sure if this is something to be alarmed about or minor. Any insight is helpful. I will call my office if it gets worse.
I'm having the same thing! A pain to the left of my belly button. It's not where any incision is. Its internal. I'm afraid that I pulled something by overdoing it.

Congrats on the weight loss!! I haven’t lost any weight since day five I had a revision lapband to sleeve on October 1st. I’m 13 days out and still the same weight since day five, I had an issue of not keeping in dairy or artificial sweeteners. So I couldn’t do Protein Shakes. I’m hoping now that I’m on stage 3 and just starting to get the Protein I need I will start to lose.

When does yours hurt? Mine hurts only when I lay down and relax my stomach. It doesn’t hurt getting up or even sitting like the other pain from the beginning was. I just hope it is not a hernia

Right now I am doing sugar free popsicles ,broth , apple sauce and Jello I was doing the drinkable yogurt but my friend told me that could have been my problem because it’s high in sugar so I stopped like two days ago. The last two days I barley ate or drank anything and and still nothing has changed. I know I shouldn’t be taking in no more then 400 calories

What stage are you in that you can do applesauce. I’m 4 days out and ready for cream of chicken soup!

So important to drink, you don’t want to get dehydrated. Call your doctor about the pain, they should have an oncall doctor to speak with. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon.🙏

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
