How do you keep track of your Protein, Water, and Vitamins?

I use the Baritastic app for Protein. It has a built in counter for Water, too, and reminders you can setup for Vitamins, though I actually created a widget on my phone with a checklist for my vitamins (from my Business Calendar app), so it's staring me in the face every time I pick up the device. It was a pain to setup, but I love how it works and that it repopulates every day.

Are you getting all your Protein? My surgeon said my hair would start to fall out if I don't get the required amount of Protein every day. So far I'm getting around 80 - 90 grams per day

Sent from my Galaxy Note 9

Yep. Have been getting all my protein, liquids, and Vitamins since the day after I got home from the hospital. My doc said I’d be less likely to lose hair if I got protein/vitamins, but that there were no guarantees. Just hope it helps to limit the loss. I have a lot of hair, so I’m not too worried. Just weird to see whole curls come out.

I use Sparkpeople for food/nutrients. For Vitamins I have an app called good habits and have a check box there for every Vitamin I need to take.

Well, my Hair loss started this week. I have curly hair and so far I’ve lost several of my nicest curls. This too shall pass.

Mine too! Mine was already thin because of birth control, now it's going to be twice as bad. I'm in lots of different groups/forums and it seems to be most common at the 3 - 6 month mark. Unfortunately, it also seems that there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. It just happens and can happen with any type of surgery. The good news is that most people said it does grow back in, and things like Vitamins, Protein, and Biotin might help the regrowth, but of course that takes time. If mine gets any thinner, I'm going to have to go wig shopping! Lol

I saw this thread was bumped and literally thought, "I wonder when some of us are going to start losing our hair? " I haven't lost any yet, but I'm nervous. I do eat a ton of Protein.

Sorry for the double post. I use the Baritastic app for Protein and Water and the Medisafe app for Vitamins and all my other medications. Medisafe is awesome. It beeps when it's time to take something and also warns you when you are taking two things that might have negative interactions.

Hi everyone!! I had my 3 month check in at my surgeons today and it went amazingly well. I’m down 61 pounds and have another 30 or so to go until I’m just “overweight”.

Just wanted to see if any of you are having check ins this month and how it’s going??

I had my 3 month post op appt yesterday. Surgeon was very happy with my results and said I was doing better than most which was a relief as I always feel I'm a slow loser. I've lost 37 pounds since surgery date and 72 pounds since my first meeting with surgeon last April.

My only issue is Hair loss. I get 60-70 grams of Protein daily but he suggested I up it to 80 grams. Due to my sleeve restriction I really can't eat more protein so he suggested an unflavored Protein Powder I could add to my food or drink.

What do you all recommend as the best unflavored protein powder?

I use Unjury unflavored protein powder fwtw.

I had my check up yesterday and have also lost 37 pounds. My doctor said I was losing a bit faster than average which shocked me because it seems so slow in here. That will teach me to compare myself to other people.

No Hair loss. I do get around 100 grams of Protein + about a third of the days. We talked about dropping my Iron and Vitamin D supplements based on my bloodwork.

I need to drink more Water, other than that everything is fine.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
