Things are getting better. food allergies have been a challenge. Can't tolerate any type of milk Protein or anything with a milky texture. Very sensitive to smells and have some aches and pains. I'm a little worried about some of what I've been feeling. Have several doctor's appointments lined up this week. Hope they can resolve my problem without a hospital stay.

Sorry you're struggling with dairy. I saw Premier Protein has clear Protein Shakes. They look like a Gatorade-type beverage instead of milk-based (though I didn't read the ingredients). Here's a link: https://www.premierprotein.com. Not sure I'd ever hit my Protein goal without dairy. Must be difficult for you.

Happy New Year! I was sleeved on 10/17, and believe I'm doing something wrong or eating too much! My HW 290, SW 278, CW 258. I see that other sleevers before or after me are will into 35+ lbs down. I get comments that I'm loosing, and get asked what are you doing. But I feel my progress has halt and I had a 4 week stall. 2nd stall since surgery, way too many times. My doctor told me I'm not eating enough small meals 5-6 times a day. Help loosing the faith!

Also, I saw another poster posted about hiatal hernia, I also had a repair and doing well from the aspect. I had heart burn, but never had the burn that came back up. After surgery it felt like I was hungry all the time but my doctor told me it was my gastric lining irritated. I started taking pepid ac, immediate relief and now I don't have to take them at all.

Just have to get my weight down, very upsetting. I thought I would loose more.

The clear are still made with whey Protein, so that may still be an issue with dairy. :(

How many calories are you eating? Are you meeting your Protein goals? I use the Baritastic app which my hospital recommended. Not sure if you can use it without a hospital affiliation code or not (you may be able to, and it's free). It's great for tracking food calories and protein, carbohydrates, and fat.

Hi surgery twin! I too have had 2 stalls at this point. I broke each of them by doing different things. My first one I broke by stopping my Protein Shake drinks. I got my Protein in with food or mixing the powder in meat chili or Soups. That did wonders. This second time... I upped my calories up to around 1,000. With working out and running, my body needed more. That broke my second stall. By measuring food, I only ever eat 3 -4 oz per meal... if that! Just know stalls happen! You're doing great! It hasn't even been 3 months yet and you're averaging 2lbs a week! You got this, it will come off, your journey is uniquely yours! Just shake some things up a little, relax, and know you're supported!

Has anyone else developed a terrible pain in the epigastric area within 15 mins after eating? First time it happened I thought I was having a heart attack because it hurt so bad. Trip to the ER and an all clear on EKG and CAT scan and labs. Pain went away within an hour and a half of being in there. Next night same problem except the pain never went away. I was going to just wait it out but after 6 hours I couldn’t take it anymore. So another trip to the ER and a diagnosis of gastritis and some gallbladder “sludge” and elevated liver enzymes. Ultrasound didn’t show any stones. Told me to follow up with my Bariatric surgeon. Has anyone else gone from tolerating most foods to barely tolerating Water? I’m afraid something is really wrong.

Sludge hurts like hell. I dealt with it for 3 years before finally with fighting I convinced them to take my gallbladder out. You don't need it and sludge can cause it to become necrotic, like mine did. It will also cause all your other organs to become inflamed and hurt, like your pancreas and liver. Fight to get it removed, I would if I were in your place

Question for everyone- how much can you eat in one setting? I get between 3 and 4 oz depending on the food, and I measure and weigh everything! This is my post run meal / Breakfast. It is a mini pickle (.7 oz) a string cheese (1 oz) some peanuts (1 oz) and dinner ham (2.7 oz) so I had 5.4 oz total - I only ate half the ham and half of the peanuts. So I totalled 3.04 oz before I was full. I refuse to push to the point of pain or feeling overly full. Took me 30 min to get down. I can't even get more than 3 oz of chicken Soup down. So I'm having to graze and eat 5 to 7 + times a day to meet my caloric needs. Anyone else?20190101_133132.jpeg

I don't know if its just me or what but why does it feel like my bones hurt from my hips to my thighs. I don't I just connect everything I feel now to the surgery probably has nothing to do with it just wondering if anybody else been feeling this.

I've been making 4 oz turkey burgers, 4 oz chicken patties, (no Buns, of course) etc. and that seems the right amount for a meal for me. I should be eating slower but I eat pretty quickly.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
