I just started my puréed diet....idk if it’s in my head or if it’s really happening but any time I try to eat anything other than liquids I feel like it’s stuck and end up getting sick...I’m an over thinker for sure but just wondering if anyone else has this problem

Depends on your surgery overall, but yes, post surgery, it's going to take some time for your new stomach to get used to thicker, heavier, more solid food items. Just take your time and let yourself heal... IE don't push things. If it hurts or makes you feel sick, stop doing that.

What Matt said! You're just not quite ready. Everyone progresses at their own speed. Give it a few days and try again. Good luck!

There is still swelling, and healing taking place and everyone is different in each stage, so take it easy, take tiny tiny bite and wait. Try just a little sip of warm liquid before the first bite. Everything felt like swallowing aquarium gravel for about a month, but then it quickly improved. Hang in there.

Agree with above statements. My doctor said if food feels like it’s getting stuck, that means you’re still swollen & not ready for food yet. Let your surgeon know, they’ll probably tell you to do liquids for a few more days.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
