I just found out that my insurance approved surgery!! I won't be able to have surgery until October because of my work schedule. Anyway, I really wasn't getting my hopes up in case insurance didn't approve it, but now it's real omg. I'm nervous and excited and would love someone to be buddies with through this. Any takers?

I'm 37. I have 4 kids (14, 11, 4 and 2) and I'm a teacher. I am starting with a BMI of 40 exactly with no comorbidities. Anyone out there with similar stats? Even different stats but you are having surgery in October? My date is 10/4.

I start my pre op on the 24th 2 days before

I'm 66 years old, 5'1". My BMI is just under 40 & I've been on a b/p med for years. Also a breast cancer survivor, so getting the weight off will lengthen my life. Surgery date is 10/30. On a 2 week diet. 2 protein shakes, 4 oz lean protein, small amt of starch & a cup of veggies. I start my clear diet the day before. It seems like different doctors have different directions.

In the process of getting approved for surgery, but my BMI is 40.5 and no comorbidities, similar to you. I have all of my appointments scheduled, so once those have gone through, I'll find out if I'm approved by my insurance company for surgery. I'll hopefully be getting my Sleeve Gastrectomy done within 2-4 months.
