Muscle pain after surgery

Recommended Posts

Hello. My surgery date was 7/17/18. I just came home yesterday, and I was still ok on pain. I woke up this morning and every muscle in my body hurt. Is this normal? I know I was kept pretty doped up in the hospital after but, i was just a little worried by how weak I was and how sore... a little incite from people who have been here too would help my nerves a little. Thanks.

It's normal... For some insight, you aren't on any of the meds they were pumping into your IV now, so you are going to feel more. It'll go away. Being weak, tired and sore after major surgery is completely expected.

Thank you so much for your reply. This is the 1st surgery I have ever had, didnt really know what to expect on the pain part of it. Glad its normal.

No worries! For the first 2 weeks minimum, just take your time with EVERYTHING. Don't rush, don't stress, don't worry, just relax, follow your instructions to the best you can and REST REST REST! (outside of doing some walking every hour).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
