In schedule for August 28, 2018 , less then a month away. My liquid diet starts on the 14th. I’m very excited but I’m not gonna lie... I’m nervous and anxious about the surgery.

I dont have any liquid diet to do. Surgeon uses a liver retractor device and likes his patients to have good nutrition b4 surgery. Idk but the surgeons are all VERY different .

That's interesting. I have the feeling they just want my system cleaned out so there is nothing in my tummy for surgery. I am glad I don't have to do weeks of it!

My best friend had her gastric sleeve done Oct 25th last year. I offered to stay with her the night she got home from the hospital but she declined the offer. A couple of days later she was already driving. She has a high tolerance for pain too so I think you'll be fine if you don't have anyone to stay with you. I would just have a family member or good friend who you can call to come if something unforeseen happens.

Thank you EasternNC!

As for the liquid liver reducer diet, I asked the nurse for my surgeon if I had to do a week long liquid diet and her answer is classic:

"No, we assume that if you're fat so is your liver. It doesn't impede the surgery."

I like people who tell it straight and have a sense of humor.

New here! I was lap banded years and years ago and had success. But alas, the band slipped. I year without the band now and very much in need of a revision.

Surgery scheduled for 8/22. Preop diets starts in 8 days.

Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi all :) My surgery is Aug 6th so I will be preparing the house and getting everything ready for me to come home to after surgery this weekend. I have been kind of nesting already if that makes sense. I just know I will worry about something needing to be accomplished if I don't do it all now. I think i'm more worried about that then surgery lol!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
