Jill, I've had tightness, like a big knot behind my largest incision. I also have had some issues with a large hardness in my upper right abdomen. The last few days, around my largest incision has been red and itchy and it comes and goes. I'm going to touch base with my doc on Monday just to make sure I'm not developing an infection.

Other than that, I feel pretty good. I went out to a concert with my daughter last night. Luckily, we were at the barrier so I had something to lean on, but I was on my feet from 5 pm until after 11.

My surgeon gave me permission to start venturing into soft foods a little early but the only thing I've had other than shakes and broth (just the first few days) is cottage cheese and scrambled eggs, white cheddar cauliflower Soup, a small bit of broccoli cheese mush, and egg drop soup.

I would love to hear what you are doing with regards to meal planning.

I’ve been sticking with scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, ricotta, and broth with protein powder. My nutritionist gave me a great recipe for ricotta, marinara sauce, mozzarella, and parm. I’ll post it when I go downstairs. She said I could eat it during the puréed food stage.

Please share that recipe I have just entered the purée stage and looking for what to eat.
I’ve been hearing about this ricotta bake since before my preop diet and now that I’m just about two weeks post-op and only 9 days from puréed foods I am getting even more excited to try it out!!
Here is the baked ricotta recipe. If anyone else has good recipes, I would love to try them!

Hey guys! TMI but I need your help So I'm having bit of trouble..
so I did number 2 yesterday and it was solid.. then it was liquidy... right.. so I took some smooth move tea so that I can get things back to normal. And I woke up with a lot of gas but had to strain to poop.. and it was just a little bit .. and it hurts.. i feel bloated :( what do I do :(
Have you tried milk of magnesia or anything stronger than the tea? I had something similar yesterday/day before. One large and painful solid and then liquidy for rest of the day. I’ve been trying to have a little MoM each day to prevent constipatio/build up because a few nights ago I had really painful stomach/cramping/eventual BM and I want to avoid doing that again...

I’m a month out and I still have BMs like this. I am still taking a stool softener that eventually helps but when I go I never know what I’m going to get.

I took the child dose i think it was 2ml.. maybe I should do the adult right? Today it was like gas and straining and it hurt actually.

Oh no :( I hope this doesn't go further

Here are two links to Ricotta Bake recipes I have saved and a Youtube video. I have not tried these yet but plan on soon. Seem to be basically all the same.... Sure it's delicious though. Enjoy!!!!

@mercmerc I think mine says 30-60mL for adults. I think I’ve been just doing 30mL and sometimes less depending on how blocked up/full/bloated I’m feeling. In my experience it has worked better when I take it in the evening for a BM the next day than in the morning or early afternoon, but it’s difficult to know for sure.

I put spinach in with my powder mix protein drink. Looks weird but as long as you don't put to much you don't really taste it. I ground some with water and put it in with my scrambled eggs (green eggs and no ham, although at this stage I am allowed). I do not by any means have regular or normal BMs but I am not backed up. If I find that it's a bit too loose I just cut back some on the spinach. Not sure if this will work for anyone but seems to keep things in control for me. Good luck and hope all gets back to normal soon.
