Anyone else at 30 BMI when they were sleeved? (Revision)

Recommended Posts

Is there anyone out there that got sleeved with a relatively low BMI? I’d dropped to exactly 30 the morning of surgery. Had it been lower it would have been called off.
Can I expect to loose my weight as quickly as others, given complete compliance (which I have maintained to the letter), or will it take me longer because I have less to lose.
Has anyone else been through this?

You must remain consitant and follow all the direction of your doctor and you will loose alot of weight as time goes by. Sleeved 3/19 weighed 274, now im 200 lbs

I’m a rule follower. That’s not a problem. 👍. I guess my question was more along the lines of, since it seems most folks who follow the guidelines seem to lose about 8-10 pounds a month, is it reasonable to assume I’ll make my goal in 3-3.5 months?! That seems so mind boggling! Yet, as of today, I’ve already lost over 25% of my extra weight! I’m thrilled.

Thanks, LELH. That’s what I was asking and what I kinda assumed. Just going to keep chugging along.

@Screwballski

YES

if/when you are at a high BMI/weight - weight will come off quickly (esp. at beginning)

turn about fair play - a low BMI/weight - weight will come off slowly

don't get discouraged - it will come off, patience!!

good luck

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
