I had gastric bypass in 2006. I lost 90lbs not the total amount I wanted to loose. Well, its been 12 years later and within the last 2 years I have gained almost 50 lbs. I have been approved for a revision due to the fact that my connection between my pouch and small intestines has stretched. Has anyone had this revision done and if so how is it going. I am nervous to excited at the same time.

Hi there, I’m curious to hear the responses. I have gained some of my weight back after my gastric bypass 4.5 years ago and am scheduled to get a upper GI test to find out if I have stretched mine as well.

I'm having a revision from sleeve to GB on 6/5 due to a stricture we just found. My surgery was in 2012 and I too lost 90 lbs. I'm angry about the revision because if I had wanted GBS I would have got that in the beginning. Now my whole stomach has to be restructured because my sleeve is now a tiny little tube. No clue the cause.

@Cindyjoyes, it's okay to get angry.I wasn't too thrilled about needing a revision due to all my pain, eating difficulty, GERD, etc. But let's face it, sometimes things just don't go as planned. Probably nothing that could have been done to prevent your stricture or my problems either.

You do what you gotta do, it will all work out.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
