Anyone else allergic to artificial sugar ??

Recommended Posts

I can only tolerate Stevia. Everything sugar free seems to be made with Sucralose ( splenda ) I get violently ill. This has made my journey more difficult as I was limited in the Protein Shake options ( I used a Plant Based Protein Powder from Six Starr and added Fairlife skim milk . I cannot have sugarfee Jello or popsicles . I have recommendations for others who may have similar issues. I did a lot of trial and error. Feel free to inquire

How did you know you were allergic?

Trial and error like the poster above, remove from your diet-better put it back in - bingo bad symptoms. Actually not an allergy, more an intolerance but nothing you want to fool around with. And if you are masochistic enough to enjoy the pain you belong on Psychological Pals instead Bariatric Pals. Ho-okay?😓

I get immediate severe diarrhea bad headaches and joint pain. I say allergy perhaps an intolerance but either way it's hard to find things without them when you aren't supposed to have sugar. I seem to be ok with Stevia in moderation.

Me too. It makes me nauseous and I’ve had diarrhea all throughout my pre op and now at 3 days post op I still have it. Just the thought of it makes me want to gag. I can’t do the sf Jello or the ice pops or anything else that is artificially sweetened.

Crystal light Pure uses stevia if you need a break from Water. I’m experiencing some of the same problems.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
