Just got approved for surgery.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I'm new to this forum, I have been considering weight loss surgery for about two years.

I have decided to bite the bullet and go for it, I am a male and my current weight is 360 pounds with a BMI of 51. I just got approval from my insurance and was so grateful to find out that my total out-of-pocket for the surgery will be $295.00

My insurance is requiring me to go through a three month long program before having the surgery, I don't know what that is all about yet, my first appointment at the weight loss center is on May 16th this coming Wednesday.

Did anyone else have to go through a program before having their surgery?

Thanks!

I had to do a 6 month process before surgery. I met with doctor and dietician each month. They just want you to start practicing and work on habits that u need to learn before bypass. Such as driniking 30 min before u eat and 30 min after u eat. Np drinking from straws. Chewing your food well. Trust me PRACTICE! listen and learn. Best of luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
