Today I have a follow-up with my program's nurse practitioner. If it wasn't for my hospitalization last week, it would've been a fairly clean follow-up. My surgeon wanted me to keep this appointment. I was really hoping to be able to begin weight lifting again. I might ask the NP if she could clear me for weight lifting even though the answer will probably be no. They say it never hurts to ask, so I will. I am concerned about losing muscle mass and I need to strength train my legs or cardiovascular progress won't happen. Perhaps I will be allowed to do something like the inclined leg press. This would be good enough.

My surgeon surprised me by dropping by during my appointment. There's good news and bad news. First, the good: I lost 2.5" from my neck and 6" from my waist. Now, the bad: My surgeon had taken a second look at the CT scan because apparently something else concerned her. I have a mass on my stomach that is worrisome and will need to be biopsied because she can't tell if it's a fatty mass or if it's something altogether different. FML! Oh well, biopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning and I will have to remain overnight.

OMG Mattymatt I am so sorry😭 I know some people on here are against prayer, it will make me feel better to do it so I shall. It seems a small thing to do for one of my first friends on Bariatric Pal. Please know I do feel your importance, the world would be a colder place had I never met you.😪

Thank you. I actually am an atheist but I accept prayer as a well-wish. Again, thank you for your kind words. Recovery is one day at a time.

You are very welcome and I do mean what I said the world would have a definate chill to it. I would cover all bases, shamans the whole lot. I was a scared "newbie" and one time just your words made my,problem no longer insurmountable. Maybe I would have thought of the solution eventually, but that day it helped. And well is my primary thought for you. One day at a time until we know more.👣😝

Man, you just can't catch a break! Sorry to hear that, but better that they have an opportunity to look at it now rather than later. Sending positive thoughts your way!

Well, I never thought I would be on here telling someone that I hope they have fat...but, here it is. Fatty mass sounds great, I hope that is your news on Thursday. Keep us posted.

Hey Matty. Give me a shout in pm if you want to talk about this! ((hugs)). I would encourage you to try to stay chill. It's VERY difficult to do though, having been through it. The worst time is the waiting.

Did you by any chance see the radiology report? You could call the office and ask to have it faxed over? I would think they give a Birads score on CTs as well as other radiological stuff. That might give you some tip off on expectations.

Sadly, lipomas on fat people are like remoras on sharks. They go hand in hand. And some grow quite large. And it's quite common to see incidental findings on CTs and MRIs that are nothing to worry about. Lipomas can happen anywhere in the gut as well as other places. They are (I think) always benign.

I would personally rather see this kinda thing here in your circumstances (stomach), than say on your lungs, liver, pancreas, kidney, etc.

And as for the surgery, if this is cancer, then the surgery saved your life. Cuz it caused the tumor to be discovered. ((hugs)) It doesn't make it any easier for you though. Just remember to breathe and remember you have friends here.

Hang in there buddy and stay active. Keep your mind active. Go work out if you feel like it. Go to the gym, even if it's to walk on the treadmill and be around people. Don't isolate.

Thank you, @FluffyChix . Today, I am just too worn out to go to the gym. I slept about 7 hours but feel like I have had none. I had a scheduled follow-up with the sleep doctor and my blood pressure is off the charts. 166/100 today. Something could be really wrong. In fact, I am about ready to try and get some more sleep.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
