I hope so, I just better not gain any and get denied. I literally have nightmares of that happening! 70 days till my last weigh in.. Haha (can hardly tell I'm anxious, huh?)

Well I would be too if I had a no gain requirement hanging over my head! The entire thing is already stressful enough without that! You can do it though! [emoji1377][emoji1377]

I have Hashimotos. I was just sleeved on 4/30. I haven't had a weigh in yet, but I was told that the thyroid levels will change as you lose weight, but only slightly. Once you have it, always have it. I lost 4 pounds through my 6 month visits. It was so hard! Just keep watch of your food intake. My biggest fall was carbs. Make exercise a priority, even if it's walking for 10 minutes. If I follow the rules, I'm expected to lose almost 100 pounds in 6 months. It's achievable, but it will be hard. Keep your head high. You can do this!

It will all be worth it. Don't give up!

So excited for you!! Are they monitoring yor levels closely, or no? My doc is every 3 months, but I feel like my levels fluctuate wayyy more than that!! Keep us posted on how it goes, as I still dont have a surgery date but hoping for June. My Endoscopy is the 10th of May...hoping for no surprises as I have had gastritis and ulcers in the past. Good luck on your journey.

Surprisingly, they said the first month yes. Then if it looks good 6 months. When I was first diagnosed, I was monitored every month. My levels took about 2 years to get under control. I've had this disease for 3 years now.

It will all be worth it. Don't give up!

I am also thyroid-less due to having had thyroid cancer. In order to suppress any thyroid cells from coming back they keep me "hyperthyroid". You'd think that would have helped me keep some weight off.. No I was not so lucky. Maybe its like you said synthetic hormone is never as good as the real thing.

One word of advice which may or may not apply, but being on high levels of thyroid replacement hormone causes bone density loss. Since these surgeries can cause Calcium deficiency, you young ones might want to keep a close eye on your calcium levels because you might be at higher risk of developing osteoporosis later on.

Not a young one, but that's good to know. I will talk to my doctor about it at my next appointment.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
