DH does not do social sites --- :( i never did either till i got the lapband & came here.

said it before, i always have both sites open & DH asks if i'm "face banding"...

*take that back, DH does belong to the corvette/harely forums, but i can't recall the last time i've seen him on there chatting*

i talk too much to hit up that farming/mafia stuff....:cursing:

I seem to always have multi pages going at once so I can Facebook, farmville, farm town and LBT! I will be so sad when school starts and I can't play on the computer whenever I want!!!

Guess getting paid is kind of important!

OMG Kristen! I cannot believe you did all the assorted damage on the way to the ground! I have not been thrown by my own in years, but was launched off my cousins mule a couple of years ago, and was rolling ass end over appetite, before I even knew what was happening! We were going along at a pretty good clip, kind of a canter speed, not full out, and he picked up speed for about 2 steps and before I could react, he stopped on a dime.....I did not. Flew off over his lowered head, and went rolling. When I come to a stop I looked at him, and he pretended to be casually grazing....ggggrrrrrrr-- I did not laugh. I made him watch me feel the others apples and he got none! If I could have made him stand in the corner, or something I would have....sh*thead mule! Glad you seem to be ok.

Off work for the weekend! I am all for getting a bit sloshed!!! Not happy with my DH, he brought home a bag of coconut M&M's---they are calling my name.

Having a family babyshower for my DIL and new grandson this weekend. Lots of yardwork to do----just the usual, mow, weed whack etc. But it has to be done. So think I will make something nice and cool for us to enjoy while doing it....nice idea y'all had!

How I would LOVE to have some of the macho mushrooms in my yard for this party!!! I would love it!

Evening everyone! It is so awesome to see so many of the old faces around! I haven't seen it showing this many people viewing the thread in a really long time! I am so excited about that!

Krtork-I hope that you have taken a hot bath and rubbed down so that you are not even more sore tomorrow. I am glad that you aren't hurt terribly bad.

re social sites:DH doesn't do regular computer social sites. He does chat or whatever with his video game playing buddies. It is still so odd to me all of these grown men playing the video games like they are playing pro.

re shopping:I haven't really done any shopping yet. I am afraid. I don't know what size to start with!!!

re cocktails:I would love to have an icy cocktail right now. I am on call until Monday morning. I can't take a chance that I will get called in while having a buzz.

Ok I have to share with you all the funniest pic. I have a Meyer lemon tree and these mushrooms grew in the pot:

Okay, um, from work I couldn't really see this. I got the idea, but I hadn't seen them. OMFG.

Wow. You MUST figure out how to grow them, package and sell!

I had to quote it again because it deserved a bump.

Glou--lol....I just don't want mine getting contacted by old hs girl friends. I guess I am just too insecure!

Lulu--YOU talk a lot?? NO WAY!

xoxoxo

Ha! Actually, since he's "on his own" there are women that are his friends that I don't know.

One, in particular, was his "interest" before I started to work there. She was married, but with problems and he kept hoping she'd leave her DH. She never did and then I worked there. He thought she was just a friend (from her perspective) and that she'd be good friends w/me too. I had doubts and sure enough, she stopped coming around. LOL

She's his friend on FB, but not mine.

I have thought about inviting her to the wedding, then though F it.

I'll be joining you lushes tonight. My daughter and her girlfriends have booked a room at the 5 star casino/hotel in town and we're all going to leave the husbands/boyfriends at home, party our asses off, get seriously trashed, fall into a heap in the hotel at some ungodly hour, then crawl home to our other halves at some stage tomorrow, probably feeling very seedy and sorry for ourselves :( I love this plan! :wink2:

I'm packing my bags. Be there soon. I even remembered that it's winter there!! So, look for the fat, tanned girl in a leather jacket, waiting for you at the airport.:cursing:

I was wondering when we would get on the topic of the drink of choice! We should all have Clear Liquids in honor of your upcoming surgery!

Thanks, you all are too kind :wink2:.

See--I would do it for pure spite. I hate women like that and would want her to see that he is mine. I am a bit territorial though.

OH MY! (LOL!)

That made me snort Diet Dr. Pepper all over my computer!!!

Did you get the DDP all cleaned up! LOL! I've learned to not be drinking or eating anything while reading this thread. It's too dangerous!! :(

..............speechless.

Okay, putting this moment on my calendar. Don't think this has EVER happened before! Plain is speechless, I'm shocked! :)

PJTP: Migraine went away and I had a great day! Wasn't so sure about the hair at first, but it is growing on me. It was super hot today (102) so DH and I went up in the mountains to run. We went up to Broken Top, about 6500ft, and it was a lovely 72 and we had a beautiful run! I am going to have to purchase a small camera that will fit in my handheld water bottle case. It was amazing! I love running across streams, too fun!

So glad the migraine went away. LOVE THE HAIR! Your run sounds wonderful!

DS had his "Iron Bear" test today and missed getting the honor by one bench press! He was so excited to go into football tonight and has been working really hard to get the title, but it wasn't happening! He felt bad, but it was super hot and only a few Seniors made the list this year. He wanted to be the second sophomore to ever get it:sad: He is over it and ready for his first game that comes up in 2 weeks. Looks like he will be starting on JV and he is pretty excited about that!

I'm so sorry it didn't work out the way he wanted but congratulations to him! What an accomplishment and at his age too!

Okay, she turned 28, what the HELL are ya planning for her 30th??!! LOL! Have a blast!!

Hello all!

Hi BBK!!! Missed ya! Happy 3rd bandiversary!!

Drive by from a lurker:

Hi Ceradad! You need to stop by more often!

Ok, let's get this party started. This thread WILL NEVER DIE!!

Almost quittin' time Diva! Of course this thread will never die! We're all addicted and NOT looking for treatment! LOL!

It was...interesting...picked up a pair of "slim fit" capris, didn't see the "slim fit" part until I got into the changing room. It was okay, though - I got them on, buttoned up and zipped! And I could still breathe! :wink2: Now I didn't like how my legs looked in them (I still have big legs) so I didn't buy them, but I'm thrilled I FIT into a 14!

WhooHoo!!! LOVE IT!

* hair, i wish my wavy hair would look good throughout the day. but, since i hate product - it stays nice for an hr or 2 then it gets flat & straight in some areas.

i just towel dry & use my croc flat Iron - i love i can use it on wet hair......

* going to the cowboy game tonight - big deal for DH, first at the new stadium.....just hope the beer is cold

happy friday all!!!

My hair doesn't do much either. That's one reason it's long. I don't have to do anything with it. No maintenance.

Have fun tonight!

So time for me to climb on (NSV - I climbed on without a stool, have not done that in about 15 years!) start riding, having fun, start loping - damn horse puts his head down and starts bucking!

Goodness! Damn horse! Glad to know you're upright but you are going to be hating life tomorrow! I hope you heal soon!

Kat, damn mule! Bet he was wishin' he hadn't done that when he saw the apples!

Have fun this weekend!

PJTP: Where the heck is Mac? Haven't seen her in awhile!

DD and I have done NOTHING today! LOL! Actually, I did sweep and mop the kitchen floor.

Talked to DH and they might release them to come home tomorrow. We're hoping. He'll be on duty til Sunday AM, IF he has relief, other wise he'll be on duty til Monday when the other Captain comes on. BUT he'll at least be where we can go see him!

Off to go practice my reading for Sunday then make dinner. BBL!

I was hoping G4E would have found a way to check in by now. I'm worried about her. She was having her biopsy Monday, so I was hoping we'd have word by now. And an update on her BIL.

Lots of prayers for both of them.

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
