@theresahyatt19 - I'm feeling amazing actually. I just posted in the post-op group that it's like my surgery never even happened because everything has been so smooth. Hope I didn't just jinx myself!

I had my RnY surgery on 7/24 and all of a sudden I feel hungry all the time. Some of it is “head hunger” because I’m bored or I miss eating but I really feel hungry all the time. Is there anybody else who feels this way?

Still in pain and groggy today. Yesterday my husband had to go to the ER while I was in surgery for severe abdominal pain. Right now he's waiting to have a CT to see if it is appendicitis. UGH! He's so worried that he won't be able to take care of me if he does.

@chellnc I’m sorry this is happening, it sounds difficult. when I left the hospital they had a nursing company come check on me. they asked if I needed an aid (I have one arm). I wonder if that’s something that your surgeon can prescribe for you? It would be tough to move around on your own soon after surgery, but if you need to do it, you will get through it! You’ll need to sort out pillows/wedges and how to get up from sitting and lying down!

Thanks @Ninarwiener I'll have to ask if they offer anything like that here.

My process has gone quickly. I went to my doctor for the first time in June and my surgery is August 29. I had three dietician appts, behavioral, labs and doctors sign off. I just completed the surgery pre-Registration, nurse visit and final blood work. So just waiting on the phone call to tell me the surgery time. My nerves are starting to kick in. Having trouble sleeping. Worried about waking up from surgery. I am having gastric bypass. Wishing everyone much success!

Hello and welcome! You are so lucky to finish that quickly. I started in February and am scheduled the day before you for gastric bypass also. Good luck with your surgery!

I just had mine day before yesterday. I was a nervous wreck like you, dreaming of surgery, missing it etc. Prayers brought me through! I asked for Nausea patch before... made all the difference! I woke up and prayed thanking God and then I did not fight meds or process of coming to conscience. I asked for my cpap abd I lay very still and did not move long after I came to. In times past I would use my energy up moving about trying to talk too much too soon. I just was really still. I communicated pain level but that’s it. So it was one of my smoother waking up from surgery experiences. Good luck dear, prayers your way

@MassMom I went through the same emotions & had trouble sleeping. Tell the anesthesiologist about your fears of waking during the procedure. Mine was very reassuring when we discussed my fears.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
