@ttj3mom It is completely normal!!! Everything you said is exactly how I felt pre op. I lost 15lbs on the pre op diet and told myself the same thing about not doing surgery, but deep down I knew that without the surgery I wouldn’t keep at it. It’s nerve wrecking and you have to do what’s best for you, but if the end result is what you want then stick them your guns!

@Jbyerly101 Thanks for getting back, I see you had your surgery, how did it go. I have been reading on muscle mass after surgery, have you heard anything on this site how that goes? I am new to this site so just learning how to respond and ask questions.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with the panicky thoughts. I worry about the actual procedure and the pre & post diets. What if I mess it all up? Will I remember what I can & should have on the pre-op liquid diet? Am I really ready for this?

One thing that I'm worried about is that I can't do sugar free items. The substitutes & even stevia gives me instant headaches that quickly turn to Migraines.

Good Morning All!

Congratulations and good luck to everyone that's on/heading to the Loser's Bench this week!

Day 2 of pre-op diet today. I'm full liquids, so that's 5 Protein Shakes, 50 calories of clear liquid, 1 cup of strained soup/yogurt/pudding.

I'm very tired and have a Headache. I'm hoping the fog clears soon.

You are rocking it!! Wow- great work! I’m impressed (:

Ok, the last major hurdle I needed to get over has been complete. Surgery paid in full. :D

I talked to my surgeon this morning about all my concerns, worries, and anxieties. I was reminded of why I chose him as he is so caring and compassionate. He put all my fears to rest and told me I could call him whenever I needed.

And then he said, "All this practicing you've been doing to transform your eating habits will pay off." And I thought well ****...with everything going on I totally and completely forgot I should have been practicing sipping, taking smaller bites, chewing well, etc. So I guess I have the next 4.5 days to cram all that practicing in! lol

I still forgot to ask him what he thinks a healthy weight is for me to target. But I suppose there is plenty of time after the surgery to discuss that.

You have totally got this! And I’ll be honest, I didn’t practice that at all. Only practiced chewing more and eating with smaller utensils. My pouch definitely made certain that I nibbled though, lol. Things will feel like lead hitting your new stomach. You will catch on quickly. Best wishes! 🤗

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
