Hi all,

I’m scheduled for RNY on July 10. Started pre-op diet today. I’m irritable and exhausted lol... gonna be tough to get through these three weeks!

Welcome and congrats on your date! And I feel every bit of your irritation on this diet. I’m on day 4 and it is tough. Not because I’m hungry but because I want to chew. I solved the salty problem by having chicken broth (diluted). Best of luck! I’m complaining about the 10 days and you have to do 3 weeks 🤦🏽‍♀️

Yeah I have been doing too much online research, nervous about getting a leak or having any complications. I have never been sedated and have never spent the night in the hospital, so this is a first for me! LOL

So I’ve been reading everyone’s posts about the gas, and how bad it is at the beginning.
I really nervous about it. I have never really been able to burp, sometime a little one just happens but nothing of any substance. So this is a little nerve wracking
Any advice?
My surgery is in a week...

I’m having my GBP July 30th. 39 days and counting! I am so excited and just want the day to get here already. My whole process took about 5 months to complete. Beginning with my first appointment with the surgeon, to the last appointment with him to sign the surgery papers after the insurance approved it. That was late May and the first week of June I was given the surgery date. Y’all keep your heads up and stay strong. 😘

I was under lightly for my upper endoscopy, it wasn’t bad, woke up not knowing anything happened, lol. I’ve never had to spend the night at the hospital either! We have to think about the positive and not the negative. I mean complications are a possibility but we’ve got to believe our surgeons will do the very best they can

Your surgeon didn’t tell you to get gas x? That usually what they give you and tell you to have on hand for the gas. Best of luck!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
