I plan on doing the same! Cut out carbs and sugar! I’m gonna make my own diet....Ketopaleo diet! Lol! There is probably one already but it’s fun to put the words together. Lol.

Just Protein Protein PROTEIN AND MORE PROTEIN...With a side of Protein!

Yes Ive been looking at both as well I saw something like the caveman Keto diet so that sounds about it good. Everything im looking into is juicy meaning in sauce my doc said Im not allowed to eat like oven chicken, turkey, no grilled dry steak, no fried chicken etc. So basically everything has to be moist because he said its better for the first year to take care of my new stomach and to lose the maximum amount of weight. He also said dried meat (like oven and fried) can give me a stomach ache and ill literally feel it digesting in my stomach. Sounds cray cray but whatever Im in this for life and I wont be suffering because thank goodness I know how to cook. The only problem I have is that Im dominican and in my culture I typically make rice, Beans, and meat at least 4-5 times a week Pasta dish for the weekends so I dont think I can convince my entire family to be on the diet so Ill just make two meals but Im thinking since its just me and I wont eat alot and also im fine with eating the same thing all the time Ill just prep 2 lasagna pans 1 for lunch 1 for dinner it should last me 6 days then we eat out once a week. Hope you all ok with me talking about food :X

my problem was never the amount of food i ate but the rich, delicious food.if it didnt taste amazing i wouldnt eat it.my husband is a chef & i love to cook & entertain.everyone always expects us to have all the holiday parties, especially the summer ones since we have a pool.i have also been looking at all kinds of recipes to make that look tasty but healthy & that my husband could add Pasta ,potatoes,or bread to.he doesnt know how to make anything healthy but he enjoys my cooking & will eat whatever i make.so this summer we are definitely gonna cut back on food & go simpler & less variety & w some healthier choices.

So after the surgery when we can finally eat solids, when we start eating normal I'm going on the Keto diet sticking to that no carbs (or should I say little to no carbs) I'm on pinterest looking up receipes like a woman planning her wedding I feel somewhat insane but I'm looking forward to it lol (Am I the only one?) Just wondering...

Same! I’ve been testing a ton of recipes during the process so I have a nice repertoire of healthy, delicious recipes.
Similar to Mac, I’ve also been sneaking Protein Powder into things. I made some high Protein oatmeal that was delicious!

well we need to trade recipes if something tastes good

How are you doing? Feeling ok? How many nights did you have to stay in the hospital?

From my experience so far, the pre-op diet is based on your abdominal thickness and what condition your liver may be in at time of surgery. Then if your team needs you to drop a fast amount, you will be on Clear Liquids for 2 weeks prior and I have seen some members on it for as long a month before.

I personally am a month out and am on 3 small meals a day of Protein, vegetables , fruit and Protein Shakes.

I have an appointment two weeks before and that turns to 2 protein shakes and a small meal with protein fruit and vegetable for dinner. no Snacks.

Two days before I will be on a total clear liquid diet.

i feel great, took my medicine ball w little tubes out today & took a shower.i only stayed 1 night in the hospital.the only thing annoying was being attached to the iv machine /pole & it going off beeping constantly & nurse coming to take vitals & the uncomfortable bed & the pressure leg cuffs.u make sure u tell them if ur nauseated or in pain because i kept telling this young nurse & she finally gave me the right amount so i could sleep thru part if the night.

That’s awesome! You seem to be doing great! Yeah I’m not looking forward to being hooked up to that iv machine the whole time...but I guess I’ll have too...Lol. Were you able to move around at all right after surgery? Thanks for the heads up. I’ll make sure to stay on top of my pain and nausea.

That’s something I haven’t heard about. I understand the not being able to sleep on stomach...Which stinks cause I’m a stomach sleeper.

Iv had a few surgeries in my life. All we’re fixing things I broke or tore playing football. So I’m used to the surgery part. But for some reason this surgery I’m the most on edge about for some reason.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
