Origin** your body is hoping you're aren't serious, that you'll relent and give it back the goodies it wants. So it's kinda sitting there hoping to wait you out, not willing to give up those lovely pounds you put there. The medical term for status quo is homeostasis, your body was happier with the weight you were at than you were. Maybe in a few days a little weight will get released, maybe not but if you are following your surgeon's guidance, not cheating in any way, things are going to be fine

I was thinking that is probably what's happening. I have not been cheating at all, my pre op diet allows for raw veggies and 3oz of lean meat but I've been mostly sticking to the shakes. Going to try to increase my water intake to hopefully kick start the weight loss. 8 days to go!

Mine is going ok...I have a Wife and two boys. They are all skinny people who can always eat whatever they want! So being around them is kinda hard when they eat their meals. But my Wife has been very good at trying to keep food and smells away from me, so I’m not too tortured! HaHa!

The only thing Iv cheated with is Dill Pickles. But I asked my surgeon yesterday and he said Dill Pickles are fine! So I guess I’m not cheating. So every time I get a strong hunger I eat a pickle and it does the job for me.

My weight loss has been CRAZY!!! I was weighed in my doctors office last Monday and I weighed 475 lbs. I got weighed again yesterday in the same doctors office and weighed 439 lbs. Iv been drinking 4-5 Protein Shakes a day with two scoops of Protein. And Iv also been drinking a gallon of Water every day! But I still lift weights every day...So that’s probably the extra boost I’m getting in weight loss. Iv been so worried about losing muscle and strength after my surgery.

Wow, that's impressive weight loss in such a short time!

Pickles are definitely a great "cheat", I am so sick of DRINKING everything all day. Though I suppose I should get used to it, since I will have another 2 weeks of liquid after surgery! Oh well, it will all be worth it in the end. The days are going by so slowly now... I can't wait for April 11th!

Wow!!! That’s impressive Mac.

I’ve dropped 16lbs in a week on this pre op diet. My GBP is on April 12th. Good luck to all.

Good luck!! Keep us updated on how things go. You got this!!

Only negative M-power I can see is there is a fair amount of sodium aka salt, in the brine you make pickles with. Yeah I've canned more than a few times in my life, you know. Much better than developing a late stage craving for cotton candy or Peanut Butter fudge.[emoji12]LOL

Yeah the sodium is the only kicker with pickles. So I sat there and thought...I have a College Degree in Exercise Science...What would I tell someone else. I’m still lifting weights and I should be sweating a lot of the sodium out. So as long as I’m not putting in the sodium at night where it will just be sitting in my body for a long period of time. I should be ok with ingesting a few pickles every so often. As long as I don’t sit there and just eat jar after jar! HaHa! Plus I talked to my doctor about it and he agreed.

Man I remember when I was playing football. After every practice and every workout, there would be buckets of pickles around that we had to eat! So we wouldn’t cramp up so bad! Oh and ice baths!

16 pounds is awesome! Your a day after me for surgery! Almost another week!

Lucky you, after softball and basketball practice they fed us salt pills. Yucky little b*****'s,seemed like they stuck in my esophagus half way down[emoji20]Guess what positions I played? Center, power forward because when teacher or coach wasn't around we played boy rules. And considering I now have 2 knee replacements- catcher. Yep good enough I was on a traveling team, very minor league but we thought we were the greatest thing since sliced bread[emoji12]

Thanks! I’m sick of drinking everything too! Which sucks cause I had always drank protein shakes before and after I lifted weights. And now I don’t even want to drink them anymore! My only problem is that I stacked TONS of food with it all and that’s how I got the way I am now! Food is just so damn good!

This week is going slow. It needs to hurry up! Plus the weather here in Nebraska sucks right now which doesn’t make the day any better!

Possibly April, Early May just waiting!

The wait sucks! You just wanna know NOW don’t ya!
