How to stop the craving of snacks???!

Recommended Posts

I’m 3weeks posted-op and where I work and at home everyone Everywhere is snacking... and the Popsicles help on most times but the others I just continue to drink and try to take my mind off of it but it doesn’t work all the time. But think that I haven’t gave in to temptation but I have thought about it what do you guys do??

It's not realistic thinking you will never have a dessert ever again. I think that sets us up for failure.
I have low carb Protein Bars, plain yogurt with sugar free syrups in every flavor imaginabe, strawberries and blueberries.
I found a low carb Protein cake single serving at the Low Carb Store in Canada called Smart Cakes in different flavors. If your not prepared you will grab something that is not appropriate.Good luck on your weight loss journey.

At 3 weeks you are just nutrition deprived and your body needs some real food, hang in there solid food is not much longer down the road. You will be happier once you can chew real food and have a few more calories - then you can have a real snack as a planned one and won't feel like this. For now just try to enjoy the companionship of the people you are with - do a crossword puzzle to keep your hands busy or learn to crochet, or bead jewelry or read a novel or take a walk during a work break - see if another coworker wants to join you.

I am trying to build a tool chest of other things to do so I don't give into the cravings, if and when I do experience them again. I am going to get up and be active.

Eventually you'll be able to have snacks--just choose the right things. One of my favorite things is a handful of cashews, for example. Or eat a yogurt (such as Oikos triple zero)--I find that I can take a very long time to finish one of them even now, and back in the early stages I could only eat a half a one at a time. Or maybe a stick of cheese? You'll find things you like that won't seem strange to other people if you choose them instead of something like cake.

When you get further out and are on solid foods you can have Snacks. I actually eat 6 small meals a day because that works better for me. When it comes to snacks just make good choices, some of my go to snacks are beef or turkey Jerky, cheese sticks, fresh cut deli meat, nuts, parm crisps, peanut or nut butter and sometimes I will eat a Protein Bar or shake if I'm feeling I'm below my Protein goals. Also in the summer I might have some fresh veggies like snap peas, raw green Beans, edimame, etc.

Pain is a GREAT motivator to stay on task eating! Lol! Sounds awful, but eat something you shouldn't and you WILL be sorry. Just look at it and say, "Nope, not now "!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
