Pureed food suggestions?

Recommended Posts

This site has a lot of good ideas. The ricotta bake was one of the things that helped keep my sanity. It was as close to "real food" as I could get and it tastes wonderful.

Hello I had surgery 1/23/18 and tomorrow is the first day I can have pureed foods. I'm so excited about it but not sure where to start? Any suggestions or tips?

I did a bunch of Campbell’s chunky soup’s. Delicious!

Cottage cheese, refried Beans with melted cheese on top, mashed sweet potatoes, mashed (pureed) carrots, yogurt (watch sugar and carb content). I was allowed to have pureed tuna or chicken, I mixed it with a little mayo, or you can mix it with plain greek yogurt and season it up. Hummus is good, especially if you make it homemade. @orionburn great suggestion of the ricotta bake and eggface's site. I did the ricotta bake too, and yes, it was delicious!

Also, during the pureed stage, I mixed in a little Isopure or Unjury brands of unflavored Protein Powder to get my Protein. You can mix it into refried beans, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc.

Beans and Ricotta bake were tough for me initially so I mostly had Soup (I would purée it in the blendor). The most common was lentil soup, which has good Protein. Split pea was ok too. Plus you get your fluids in at the same time. We were also allowed cottage cheese, which after lots of chewing was good.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
