Hello All!

I have been looking into getting surgery for years now. I have a job that covers the surgery so long as I meet the requirements. I have Cigna and one of the requirement is that I follow a weight management program for >89 consecutive days or 4 visits. I have my last visit on March 13th and I am nervous because my surgeon advised not to gain weight. I gained 2 lbs my last visit so now I'm working towards losing those 2 lbs I gained plus an extra pound or two. My question is did anyone go through the weight program with Cigna and gain and still got approved? They don't specify whether you need to lose during this time or you will be denied so I just wanted to ask others on here to see what your experience was.

I have Cigna and I am currently going through the three months. I was told that if your ending weight is higher than your starting weight, they will automatically deny you. But, I was also told that they don’t really pay attention to the weight in between your first and last visit. Just make sure your ending weight is less than your starting. My surgeon actually has his own weight loss requirements, and I have to lose 12 pounds during the 3 months. I lost 6 the first month, but I am finding it more difficult to keep my calories low enough to lose another 6 in a month. I may end up taking the full 3 months to lose 12 pounds...it’s kind of sad, lol.

Yes!!!! It has been very difficult. I even bought a puzzle to occupy my mind and time and distract me from thinking about eating. I feel like I will be able to lose the 3 lbs in these next three weeks. Good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
