Extreme dizziness 5 days post op

Hey all!

I’ve been having gas pains like many but dizziness and lightheadedness. It started two days post op and usually gets worse at night. Could it be due to lack or calories? should I be worried? Thanks all!

Possibly.

Maybe you need to get some more protein shake into you.

Another likely cause so soon post op is dehydration. Make sure you are getting in those fluids. It’s tough in the beginning.

I would get some bouts of dizziness early on. Was always worse when I took a shower. Did your doc instruct you to monitor your temp and heart rate? That was something we had to do. Both should be under 100, degrees and BPM respectively.

Yes, you might be dehydrated and lack of food intake. My bloood pressure would be extremely low months after surgery. I would have to intake a piece of small sugar to get me going.

All of these are good suggestions. Also, are you on any blood pressure medications? A few weeks after surgery my doctors took me off because I didn't need them anymore & was getting dizzy. Good luck to you!

Thanks everyone! I went to the doctor and got my vitals checked and it was all normal, so I’m guessing it’s lack of calories! I’m getting a good amount of fluid in because my pee is clear. Thank god I stopped taking my bp meds because it was normal today!
