5”3 - 202 pounds- do I classify for Bariatric sleeve ?

Recommended Posts

Hi Dear ,

For 8 years I struggle with my weight , for the last 5 years I’ve been trying to bring my weight down with docs prescriptions such Ephetamine but no success , in 2 years I work on the gym so hard 5 days a week same times twice a day , I happily went down 18 pounds , still not enough for my body

I have a lots back pain and neck problem WICH prohibit me from work out as I used to gain all the weight back , so frustrating , have a appointment with Bariatric doctor , my question , do I have chance to be approved ? I’d love to hear some comments ...thank you

your BMI is over 35!

Do you have high blood pressure? Cholesterol? Diabetes?

if you live in usa it will depend on your insurance provider but by any medical standards you have class 2 obesity and definitely qualify!

Most programs and insurance require a BMI of 40 or over or 35 and a comorbidity like diabetes or another weight related condition. Your back issues might be considered a comorbidity.

When I went in for my first appointment they told me my insurance required that my BMI is 40. Mine was 39 but luckily they bumped mine up to 40 lol I guess it might depend on insurance. I would go in and speak to someone. You never know. Good luck :)

I had similar stats. I didn't qualify through insurance (no comorbidity, though a family history of many), but had no issues qualifying for self pay.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
