Surgery at 5am

Recommended Posts

I'm new to this app. I've been reading alot of posts over the last couple of days. Alot of good info. Right now im really nervous. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning. I have 3 kids. Ages 11,9, and 2. I'm so afraid of leaving them behind. I just want to wake up. I've been waiting for this for so long and now I just don't know...

Im definitely going to go thru with it. I pray I'm making the right decision. Anyone else feel this way?

Yes I felt the same way. Sending you courage. Have faith everything will be ok. See if they will give you a Valium prior to them wheeling you into surgery. I had Valium and it really relaxed me. I too was terrified.

Thank you. I will definitely ask for it. How was the pain?

It was tolerable. Your on strong meds. Nurses were always asking how my pain was, always ready to give more if needed. You are up and walking within 6 hrs. Force yourself to get up. The nurses helped me the first time to get out of bed and helped me walk but after that I did everything on my own. Just listen to what the nurses tell you. You will do great.
The pain was a 6 for me...childbirth and kidney stone were a 10 !

Rather than focusing on "what could go wrong" in relation to your surgery.... Instead, focus on the many obesity related health concerns your surgery will help to correct:)

It's easy to second guess yourself when you're in a stressful spot. Trust your saner self...the person who researched and worked hard to get here.

You're going to do great. Wishing you the best.

You are absolutely doing the right thing and your healthly future..Wake up, walk get liquids in and you'll be home soon with the kiddos. You've got, this my dear and I believe you'll be just fine.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
