Strange New Pain?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I’m so sorry if this is posted in the wrong place this is my first post 😬

I was sleeved on 1/15/18 and am now 4 Days post op and 3 Days home. My surgery was done robotically and I have 5 incisions, none in my belly button. I just recently stood up from a laying position and felt a weird pulling sensation to the right of my belly button and on the right inside of my belly button, then small popping feeling and now I am experiencing a pins and needles sensation in the area since this happened (10 minutes ago) has anyone experienced this? Should I contact my surgeon? I’m freaking out lol.

It sounds like all the symptoms they said to expect. However it doesn't hurt to Call your physician for reassurance. Good luck with everything. My surgery is scheduled for 3/13. I'm nervous [emoji26] [emoji26] [emoji26]

Oh gosh I get you! I hate the unknown and "is this normal" stuff after surgeries!!! I second the "calling the doc" advice. They are expecting these types of calls so soon after surgery. Swearsies! Let us know what they say!

Definitely call, pain is normal popping isn't. Want to make sure you didn't pull a stitch or something.

I called and my post op NP said she hasn’t heard this with every case but it isn’t the first time she’s heard it, she thinks I may have over done it today and told me to actually do LESS! Haha total first for me to hear lol. The pins and needles have subsided some, now it’s just an annoying little achy/slight numb feeling next to my belly button and that I can handle!

Agree! That’s what scares me! She didn’t seem concerned, and it felt like it was in the belly button where I don’t have any stitches so she’s thinking it’s a nerve pain escoeically with the slight numbness and tingling I had earlier

That's good news! Hopefully with doing less the pain will go away.

Someone in my FB group said that her surgeon did an internal stitch to help avoid a hernia and a pop could be felt when it breaks. It's supposed to break. Could be that!

I had the same thing happen. I had the surgeon check for hernia and hematoma, and I was cleared. I didn't hear a pop, but I thought I felt one. It was tender to the touch for at least another week and was painful for only a day or two before it was just sensitive to movement or touching.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
