February bypass buddies?

Just got back from my final appointment with the surgeon. Received a date of February 13. They will submit my information to my insurance company, but I have no reason to think I won't be approved.

Looking for any buddies February and/or surgery day twins.

Is anyone using the ketone strips during the pre op diet phase?

I didnt think of it, I guess i could but I start my optifast diet tomorrow 14 days to go. I can only have optifast and a few "clear fluids" no sugar added stuff. Already feeling tired today. As a nurse myelf Im not sure how im going to make it but im pushing though.

I was just thinking it might help with motivation.

No for me. I've been living in ketosis for so long that they don't turn much color. I'm on Day 3 of the liquid diet. So far, so good. LOL.

How are y'all doing??

Oh, don't get me wrong, there is hunger. But it's manageable and not stark raving mad kind of hunger? But I will confess, at night I'm playing a ton of games on my iphone lol! :D

Im going to bed early tonight...sleep though the hunger pains. (Yes im being dramatic) 13 days to go!

Today is my Day 2. Today, has been harder than yesterday. I have a mild headache that won’t go away and I feel like I’m in some kind of brain fog. It’s hard to concentrate. I’m hoping tomorrow will be better.
On a positive note, I tried some chicken bouillon soup from Barilife and it was yummy. It was a nice break from the other clear protein meals.

Tomorrow is the day! Magnesium Citrate & Water down & waiting for the call for my surgery time. Not to nervous just anxious to get on with it! Away we go.....

Hahahaha! Good luck! I especially ADORE the cherry flavored sparkling mag citrate. :D I LOVE how clean as a whistle it leaves me. ;) Have fun on the throne today!

My doctor didn’t mention anything about Magnesium Citrate. I am on a clear liquid diet for 10 days prior to surgery. Does everyone do the Magnesium Citrate?

My RD told me specifically not to bowel prep. Where you drink stuff to clean you out from stem to stern? But dang, I was like, "Well...I dunno 'bout that..."

I will talk to the doc next week at my appointment. I do a bowel prep for a root canal if it is gonna involve fentanyl and/or general anesthesia. The worst experience of my life was having to get rid of an impaction after my port was in! LOL

The clinic I go to required my wife and I to watch a video about the surgery and that mentioned that some type of bowel prep was going to be needed. But when I actually went through the pre-op meeting with the doctors they are only having me on protein shakes and water tomorrow no magnesium citrate, surgery is Friday.

Just had RnY on Monday, had to have my cherry flavored mag Citrate on Sunday. Joy Joy!

Yeah, but don't you just love the sparkling wild cherry? If I was a kid, I'd prolly sneak in the bathroom, lock the door and sneak a swig--just like I used to sneak aspergum and baby asprins. LOL. :o:blink:
