February bypass buddies?

Just got back from my final appointment with the surgeon. Received a date of February 13. They will submit my information to my insurance company, but I have no reason to think I won't be approved.

Looking for any buddies February and/or surgery day twins.

I've got my insurance approval and a surgery date of Feb. 15, as long as everything goes according to plan at my final appointment on Jan. 30 with my lab work and all that.

Good luck to everyone.

What sort (if any) pre-op diets do you all have to do?

It's funny now that I'm trying to be diligent about the starch free that it seems to be everywhere and is more tempting!

I am having bypass February 5th. Insurance cleared it already and I just have to do a low carb diet for 2 weeks and day before all liquid. Getting so excited and can’t stop thinking about it!!

I’m also scheduled for a bypass on Feb. 15th :)

I'm scheduled for 2/1...yikes a week from tommorrow.

Oh boy!! Getting close!

@RunningLibrarian what's a starch-free diet? Just like a no-carb thing - no wheat, rice, potatoes, etc.?

Yeah.. only carbs from veggies and fruit.. No bread, (or breaded stuff), corn, potatoes, rice, peas.... that sort of thing. It's to shrink the liver so its easier for the doctor to lift to get at the stomach for the surgery.

I'm February 8th! This liver shrinking diet is no joke, I've got a headache that will not go away from no caffeine and I could chew off my fingers I'm so hangry!!! I'm only on day 2! geez!!!

Oh man, caffeine withdrawal is the pits! I gradually stepped down, then quit the caffeine when I first started with the program... I didn't want to go thru that and surgery stuff at the same time.

I'm really wishing I had gradually step down right now!!! lol
