Any February Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 2/26 as well. Im at 19 pounds down. Im trying to eat around 800 calories a day. With 60 oz Water and 80 grams of Protein. Im getting around 7500 steps in a day. Not excersising yet. Most days calories are 650-700. Im happy, although every other day i have no energy at all. I think its directly proportional to my water intake.

Cheers

18 days post op here.

Is anyone else getting paranoid over the fact they can eat more now? :(

Yesterday was the very first day I was able to hit 500 calories and I am freaking out. I know it's illogical and I am being paranoid but I feel like it's too early for me to be able to eat that much comfortably. I know I have to eat even more in order to hit my Protein goals but as my weight loss is halting and my intake is up I am just feeling panicky.

I feel like I don't understand my sleeve at all, some foods go down with generous amounts, and some foods make me super full from two bites.

I feel like that's why the results of the sleeve differ from person to person, it's all about the food choices we make. It's tempting to pick stuff we can eat a lot of. There in lies the trap.

Exactly the same here. Solid Proteins are the only ting that gives me that physically full feeling.

But what I'm loving most about this surgery is an almost total lack of hunger. That is making it easier to make good choices. I was at a work event and had several buffet meals. I was able to skip past things I used to love (still love?) and go straight to the lean Protein. I just didn't have any real desire to eat, so the chicken was as appealing as the mashed potatoes. I'm really hoping that continues for a looooong while!

How’s everyone feeling. I was sleeved 2/15. I’m down 2 sizes and feel like I can take in more Water today than even this morning. I just had 12 oz of water in about 1 hour when before that would take several. Anyone struggling with purée (current stage) Or liquids are you starting to feel a little better ?

~Chandy898

I am having the hardest time eating. Decided to stick to liquids for a bit longer. I feel like everything gets stuck between my chest while the food goes down. No bueno...[emoji24]

Everything's been going down really smoothly and I've been cleared to eat anything I can chew down to a paste! I've had the reduced fat triscuits with some tuna, olive oil, lemon, relish and black pepper. IT WAS TO DIE FOR. I MISSED FOOD!

It took only one triscuit (I originally put in a half serving of 3 lol), and less than 2 oz of tuna. I swear I don't recognize myself anymore.

23 days post op. Yesterday I had my highest ever calorie day, a whooping 800 calories! I felt like a pig LOL, and I was eating *all day* it's surprising what it takes these days when back in the day I'd still feel hungry after 2000 calories.

I won't make a habit of it, I feel like it's too soon to be eating 800 calories, but with the introduction of new foods, eating has been way easier. I won't count but I will try to stick to 600 calories, I have years of calorie counting and weighing foods under my belt so I sort of know what it looks like.

BUT GUESS WHAT! I broke through the stall! WHOOOSH 4 pounds in one go.

Total loss of 27.5 pounds in 22 days. :)

OK, so inquiring minds want to know: when did your stall start and how long did it last?

My stall lasted about a week (started mid week 3). Sometimes my weight went up, as well. I am now mid week 4.

I had my sleeve done exactly 1 month ago from yesterday. I am lucky if I can get 500 calories in. I have to rely on Protein Shakes to get my required amount. For me, I noticed that only moist foods go down well. Anything else kind of hurts going down and then I feel like it lays there like a rock. I always eat slow and I stop before I get that full feeling. I can't stand that feeling. I spread my Vitamins out through the day so I don't have to take so many at once.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
