Any February Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Well I am a week out from my sleeve, I think things are going well, still some pain and discomfort but gets better everyday, I’m getting up in the morning and having a 10oz cup of Decaf coffee with caramel Protein as a Creamer, takes me about an hour to drink it. I’m having a cream Soup or lunch which I can get about 8 baby spoons full down before I’m stuffed. Then maybe a little yougurt at night, I have been walking some and using the nectar Protein in Water so I can get close to my protein goal

There have been some emotional breakdowns especially since my wife has gone back to work but I’m not regretting it.

My Nutritionist said to try and get 400-500 calories a day for the first week but mostly to focus on getting in enough liquids. 48-64 Oz of liquids a day. I reached my calorie goal easily when I ate Cream of Wheat. I waited about a week after surgery to eat that though, but it is high in Carbs and calories but delicious and pretty easy to get down. I am now in my second week and am told to get in 500-600 calories a day. My surgery was on 2/12 and I just got back to work today. I work a desk job. I am still in some pain and wish I could take some of my harder meds, but I will wait until after work so that I can stay coherent.

Thank you I just wanted to check

Tomorrow is sleeve day. I'm a little nervous, but mostly ok.

Here's a quick question. How long was your actual OR time? The hospital called me last night and said the surgeon blocked off the OR for 5 hours, which seems just crazy. There is a chance she'll do a small hiatal hernia repair also, if she can find it. But 5 hours? What was your experience?

My Dr. told me the surgery took 40 minutes. Mine was just the sleeve and a liver biopsy, no haital hernia repair. Maybe she is doing multiple patients the same day? I know my surgeon does.

Mine was 2 hours, he was looking to repair a hernia but did not find it.

They always block off more time

Thanks everyone. I really think 5 hours is crazy, but maybe she schedules for any possible problem instead of likely time (so the OR is ahead of schedule instead of behind.)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
