Favorite VSG Youtube channels?

Recommended Posts

I've been watching a LOT of YouTube videos from people who have had the VSG surgery as well as bariatric surgeons. It's cool to watch and see people's transformation over a period of months. Right now I'm especially interested in the videos from people who post their experiences during their surgery and first week post op, since I'll be having VSG on Jan. 11th.

Just curious, what are some of your favorite YouTube VSG channels?

I've learned a lot from a couple of the bariatric surgeons channels - one is Dr. Mathew Weiner and the other is Blossom Bariatrics from Las Vegas; their dietician has some really good videos.

Clusie is great. Saved by a Sleeve doesn't have that level of polish and isn't a natural entertainer like that, but he's a regular guy who is very honest and frank and usually checks in regularly. There aren't nearly the number of male VSGers on YT as female, so that makes him worth seeing.

My favorite is #AskDrA with Dr Alvarez. He has a series of short clips that answer any possible question you have about vsg. It was a huge help to me when I would wake up in the middle of the night and wonder about something. You can ask him questions and he's on snap chat too.

Not really a sleeve channel, but I stumbled on Boogie2988, who is someone who had a bypass. He was pretty honest about the whole process and effects and that was helpful for me when I was first deciding to get surgery. Definitely inspiring to watch others go through the process.

I love Clusie! She keeps it real... is super informative and hilarious.

Her story about why she chose VSG helped me make my decision. 💕

I find the youtube videos a bit rambly, take a drink every time they mention their hair.

I haven't pooped in a weed and I'd love a 4 pound poo right now lol

Lol, yeah, I've been known to drop 3-ish lbs after a good (and long awaited) poop.

.....or even after a moderate to severe dumping episode. yikes.

Those are championship cups for both you guys! :) I personally came up a 1.4lb winner this morning. ;) hehehehe.

I met with my surgeon on Friday.. I've completed all my tests and all my nutrition meetings as well as meeting the weight loss requirements for my insurance. We are officially submitting to insurance for approval and I was given a surgery date of January 16th 2020 (13 days before my birthday!) Fingers crossed all goes through

Ok, now im getting old...my body gets me up at my normal 5am dog walk even when it's the weekend, vacation, and most importantly when I'm sick. So now that I have more energy, my body wants to make sure I suffer even longer during the day when I have a cold! Damn being healthy again! (:D)
