  5. Sorry for the late response. My weight loss has been slow but steady. I too, packed on the pounds after my hysterectomy. Don’t get me wrong, I was overweight to start with but after the hysterectomy my weight gain went to a whole different level. Good luck with your VSG. July is almost here!!!

  11. I think threads on BMI’s are helpful. I am only 5’0 tall so my pre-op weight is some people’s goal weight. There is a significant difference when someone is 5’11 weighing 275 lbs and say, someone who is 5’0 weighing 275 lbs. just saying I find it’s helpful to look for individuals with similar BMI’s than how much they weigh.

  14. I had severe endometriosis which resulted in a total hysterectomy 4 years ago. My sleeve was done in Nov 2017 and I haven’t had any problems. Before my sleeve I would have random abdominal pain but I haven’t had any since. Hope all goes well for you!
  15.    Stacy160 reacted to a post in a topic: Can I still qualify for VSG with mild GERD?
  16. I had terrible GERD before surgery and my surgeon said he would prefer to do bypass because that pretty much cures GERD. However, my insurance wouldn’t cover bypass initially. It covered VSG and then if I still had bad GERD it would cover bypass. So, my Dr said he would do the sleeve as long as I understood that I may still need a revision to bypass if the GERD was worse. Thankfully, I am 4 months out and no GERD!!
  17. I had the same thing for about the first four weeks. If I took too big of a sip of water it was worse. Like everyone says small sips..Hang in there it will get better
  18. I am 5’0 tall and my Dr said my weight should get down to 110lbs. So, I looked it up on the BMI chart and it is right in the middle of the healthy BMI range. Vsg on 11/24/2017 Hw 189lbs CW 140
  19. Clusie on YouTube, she’s hilarious and very informative
  20. Hi everyone, I am about 8 weeks post op VSG. I feel great and I am losing weight. However,I went for an appointment at 6 weeks and asked how many calories I should be consuming and he said no counting calories and that my priority should be to eat 60 grams of protein a day. I worry about limiting my calories and messing up my metabolism more than it is. Is anyone else out there not counting calories?
  21. Yes, he said if I want to use the non chewable ones I have to take a separate calcium citrate.
  22. I am 7 weeks post op vsg and I had the same problem with the chewables. My Dr. switched me to regular Bariatric non chewable ones but I have to take an additional calcium citrate with it. It is definitely better than the chewables!
