Week 3 after sleeve - weight loss slowing

Recommended Posts

Hey all, first post. I’m a little down in the dumps today. I’m officially into my third week after surgery and while the first week I lost 8 pounds last week I only lost one! I’m super frustrated as I’ve been following every direction, not exceeding 700 calories a day, walking every day, following the rules. My only slip up was drinking some hot chocolate made with skim milk. Why would my loss stall like this? My husband says I’m crazy since I’m already 23 lbs down, but I just thought that the weight loss at the beginning was super fast. Now I’m afraid to add anything to my diet!

search the forums for the "3rd week stall." Many of us that are post op have had a similar situation. Sometimes it last a few days or a week or more. Your body is still changing and shifting. Just stick to the course and follow your plan. The weight will start coming off again soon.

I got lucky and didn't have a 3 week stall but ended up hitting it at 5 weeks and I've been stuck there a full week.

The numbers are gonna inevitably slow down and hit speed bumps, will happen to everybody.

It happens. It's super frustrating. Try to stay off the scale everyday, it just makes it worse.

I just had a two week stall and I was doing everything I should . You just cannot predict how the body reacts at different times. It's a big change, which is why I think the 3 week is a pretty popular time.

Just keep plowing through....

Thanks everyone! I'm glad to hear it's a common occurrence. I think the other factor is my period is on its way (if it stays on track) so PMS could be part of it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
