I've been looking to make more friends. Been separated for a long time, down 101 pounds with 39 to go...have my self confidence back, and want to meet women or a nice woman to spend time with. It's been 18 years since I've been in this "game" and am getting discouraged.

Wanting to meet for things like walking/hiking, meet for coffee, maybe go to movies, etc.

Here's my dilemma. What's with this sexting crap? I mean if I were in a committed relationship and we wanted to flirt with some pictures maybe that's one thing. But just meeting someone over the internet and never in person yet, and the next thing you know you've gone from getting regular face pics to naked pictures on your phone?!?

I know some of you would not mind this but that's not me or what I'm looking for. I genuinely want to become friends with someone by spending time together.

Are there still people out there like me or is everyone just looking for a hookup?

I understand completely I had same thing happen. I was married for over twenty years lol since I was 18 then I get divorced and I am completely clueless about how I am supposed to date. I took a break from trying online dating sites. The women I was meeting were, well...I'll leave that alone. I'm know there are alot of good ones out there but they must be hard to find that way.

I do hope you meet some nice people as it’s nice to have people to relax and unwind with after a long work week. Too funny I have a friend who was trying to talk me into moving to North Carolina last year we were both starting to hate a lot of things about living here.

I'm originally from NY..been here 18 years and love it. It's a good place to live. And the cost of living difference is great!
